Hi! My RL name is Carolee (75 this year [2016] ) and I'm a transplant to Oklahoma. Hubby & I 'retired' here in 2006 because our son -- and only 'child'! -- settled here. Since his son is our only grandchild, it was a no brainer! ;-) After having lived almost 38 years in the environs of Washington, DC, we have found Oklahoma and its warm & friendly people a refreshing respite to the frenzied environment of Washington. We both do admit that the Oklahoma weather is a continual challenge! I like to remind my East Coast friends that we do indeed have four seasons here in the southern plains. They are: tornado, drought, football and ice storms. :-)

I'm a retired clinical microbiologist but I still like my 'bugs' and try to keep up on the ever-exciting field of microbiology. Hubby spent his entire career with NASA in the DC area and still consults for them, including several trips a year. We've traveled together and as a family quite a bit over the years although I'm pretty much a homebody nowadays.

I discovered Jigidi a couple of years ago and am positively addicted to it. I've always enjoyed puzzles of all sorts -- maybe that's why I also like clinical micro: unraveling the reasons for infections, etc. Nowadays I'm pretty much an 'armchair' naturalist but I've always loved observing and studying our natural environment and the amazing connections among all elements on our planet and universe. As such, I've done volunteer work at a national wildlife refuge and taught in an environmental science program at a university.

Over my life, I've also done 'time' both on and off the stage, mainly doing musical comedies with amateur groups along with designing and constructing costumes for these groups. Currently my sewing time is devoted mainly to making quilts for Lutheran World Relief and some auctions. I've also dabbled with the written word in the genre of (don't laugh!) fan fiction.

We've had dogs all our married life, with a few cats scattered into the mix. Currently, it's just one 'old' cat whom we inherited from friends who moved away a couple of years ago.

So... this is me in a very big nutshell. Thanks for stopping by! :-)
