I'm a retired lawyer born and raised in South Carolina, USA. I love spades, bridge, and poker. I've done lots of needlepoint, macrame, baking bread and making yogurt. I traveled a lot before health and covid interfered. I am an avid reader of crime and legal books when not doing genealogy.

In 2007, I lost my only child to suicide. My world stopped. Many, many months later I heard a bird singing. I knew then, and only then, I was still breathing.
