Description from an Indian blog, which might explain some of the Captain Obvious explanations. I've done light editing for punctuation.

"Bell-bottom jeans, tie-dyed shirts, and bearded hippies, the 60s were a magic time. Everything was new. Everything was exciting. Everything was fresh. In Toronto, the mecca for action and excitement was Yorkville. Crowded with colourful boutiques and noisy coffee houses, it was a narrow avenue packed from end to end with the hungry masses.

Mr. Sub, originally called Mr. Submarine before the 1990s, is a chain of 304 submarine sandwich shops in Canada. The first store was opened in 1968 in Toronto's Yorkville neighbourhood, which was then known for its "hippie" culture. It is especially known for its freshly baked bread, healthy ingredients and customizing each order to the customers' satisfaction. Beverly is the Master Franchisee for "MR.SUB" pan India.

Mr. Sub's main product is the submarine sandwich (or "sub"), a long roll, similar to a baguette, filled with meat, cheese, sauces, and vegetables. Other products include, wraps, soups, salads, baked goods, and panini grilled sandwiches

The brand purpose is to make people feel that they belong. The brand personality is welcoming, Simple, Consistent, Dependable and Happy."

"Taste, variety and hot fillings are some of other USP's. The internationally renowned submarine sandwich chain has worked closely with local chefs to ensure a good balance of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options in its menu with specific tandoori flavours like Tandoori Chicken Tikka and Tandoori Paneer Tikka and hot & spicy flavours like spicy sambal veggie balls and curried soya. These have been developed keeping in mind the preferences of India Customer. Recommended international favourites are the pizza, Italian herb chicken and assorted Subs. Both international & local fillings can be enjoyed as a salad for the calorie conscious or as wrap choosing either plain or spinach tortilla. Mr. Sub bakes fresh bread and cookies in the store itself."

Alas, the blogger doesn't tell us what the fillings in this particular sub are. Chicken? Tuna? Something I've never heard of from the Subcontinent?

I like cucumber sammies, cucumber salad, pickled cucumber with red onions, etc. etc.

Poor Mick! I eat cucumber sandwiches all the time (though not with the rinds, yuck).

For me too, Wayne!

Thanks so much, jb.

VERY GOOD SUB! FUN TO DO, TFS

I enjoy a good sub. It would make several meals for me.

doesn't matter what the good ingredients are, the whole thing has been ruined by cucumber. Sad, sad, sad.

I think I have heard of this shop (or something similar). As long as it is fresh with good fillings, any sub shop will do just fine! This one pictured sort of looks like tuna, but then again, it is hard to tell.
