Why are you reporting this puzzle?

The correct anwer is ***** LYLE WAGGONER *****
An American actor who appeared regularly on The Carol Burnett Show but probably better known worldwide for playing Steve Trevor in the TV series Wonder Woman alongside Linda Carter in the title role.

THE CHAIN LINK to Fabian . . . WATCH WHERE YOU PUT THAT STAPLE!
The year . . . 1973 and after 2 preview issues the monthly magazine "Playgirl" was launched in June 1973. As well as the usual articles the magazine, aimed primarily at women, it featured photos of semi-nude men (it wasn't until Nov '73 that they featured the first full frontal nude male). One of the regular features was "Man of the Month" . . . a 2 page centrefold pin-up . . . many of these were well known in the world of entertainment. In the June issue (no.1) it was Lyle Waggoner gracing the centrfold pages. When asked about it later in his career he is quoted as saying "Nobody told me it was a nude centerfold but I was game."
Fabian's reaction was not as enthusiastic when in November 1973 he stripped off for the magazine centrefold in order to boost his waning career and regretted his decision saying "I knew it was a mistake the minute I saw the thing sold in a paper bag . . . I could barely live with myself."

. . . and the winner is WONDER WOMAN . . . well okay it was ME. (blushing here)

Happy Dance . . .

Trouble_and_Frog

You're welcome . . . I've just about recovered from having to go through all those photos. I had to make sure I got the best quality and most appropriate after all . . . lol

I thought of going hunting for those centrefold pics but thought better of it . . . I don't think my ticker could have coped with the excitement and who knows what would pop up in those related internet ads . . . lol

gogogo

LOL!
A big congrats to you, T&F! :-)))
I am mostly familiar with Lyle Waggoner, from his appearances on "The Carol Burnett Show".

Trouble_and_Frog

Hi everyone . . . I think I'd better start off by explaining that Batman outfit. Lyle Waggoner auditioned for the role in the 60s and this is a still from the screen test . . . the part went to Adam West.

I think @Puzzledpiece deserves a special mention for suggesting Lyle Lovett on pic #1 . . . after all it was half right . . . ;-)
