'It is good to see that we are now of a like mind."

One of the scariest sentences I have ever read.

Oh, NO... I second the motion that is scary.

Heicel

@rswestley Your words let me suspect that you - and others - missed the key word of my statement, and therefore misinterpret its meaning. It doesn't matter. But I assure you that I never ever would attempt to oust yor mother from her position as the sole admirer of your mind.

rswestley

Sigh... and all this time I though my Mother was the only person who liked my mind. (I hope Hoff and Juba were paying attention)
Thank you, @Heicel

The CDC recommends you wear a diving helmet when:
1) you are around people who do not think like you
2) It is difficult to maintain the recommended 6-light year distancing from others (such as on Jigidi, public restrooms and any relative of a Xenomorph)
3) If you are a Crime Scene Cleaner (also known as TIMremediation Specialist)
4) Whenever you come in contact with a person that drools constantly, talks incoherently and has as mouthful of SPAM

I might keel over.

Juba1010

That could scare the ship out of me.

Juba1010

When said about TIM? Yep.

msbonne

"It is good to see that we are now of a like mind."

One of the scariest sentences I have ever read.

Heicel

@nanab Thank you for your kind comment!
@rswestley It is good to see that we are now of a like mind.

rswestley

Oh Heicel, Heicel, Heicel... there is certainly no need to apologize. As BB so eloquently stated, I, TIM, am The Mastur of Tipos. If you should ever want increase the number of your typos OR the quality of your typos, just read my comments. Not only are my comments a total waste of your time, they also present creative and imaginative ways to increase confusion and WTFs...

@Heicel

Juba1010

That’s one way to avoid huge ships.

msbonne

Typos are my worst enema.

nanab

Typos - TIM is the KING of typos and I am the QUEEN.
No apology necessary here @Heicel. This is not a little red school house and there is no head master here.
Sorry to hear of your difficulties.

Ms_Maddy

I just want to know what happened to the drunken sailor 🤔 It didn’t end well in Jaws.

Heicel

@rswestley You're right: sorry for the many typos in my comment! I've hurt my back pretty bad and still have to lay flat mostly. And since my ceiling is not a very entertaining sight I use Jigidi as much as I can, holding my tablet up above my head with one hand and using a stylo to puzzle and trying to type with the other. Reading the mess I typed here I shouldn't have done that.
Sorry.
Now that I'm able to sit up for an hour a day I can at least type my apology readable.

nanab

...and Jean is still MIA.

rswestley

I googled it... Captain TIM says small sail-shios havd coal bins in the winter months and they have cool bins during the summer months.... but when they are in dry dock getting their spelling fixed, they have no bins at all... :-)

ps - Heicel, I'm only kidding... please do not throw a pootted planntt at mi :-)

Juba1010

Heckifino

Heicel

Which raises the question: Do small sail-shios havd coal bins? 😊

Juba1010

Throw him in the coal bin till he’s sober.

Heicel

It's all very well but... the main question is still unanswered: What shall we do with the drunken sailor?'
Well?
😉

myself1935

It's okay- He knows it all anyway thus has no need for advice-
But as Rob said, TFYSS.

msbonne

Oh, you wanted WISE advice.

Sorry, My bad.

myself1935

You have not done that lately, Hoff- President Trump seems to need some wise advice from a historian like you right now. Do go and help him out...

robf

Thank you for your selfless service.

msbonne

Been there, done that.

robf

Care for a job in DC Hoff? They might have a place for a sloth with those virtues.

msbonne

No, but it does make them unlistenable.

I am happy to impart some of my knowledge and wisdom now and then.

robf

The Yankees cannot play a symphony either. That doesn't make 'em incompetent.

robf

TFS, Hoff.

msbonne

Ships hit icebergs to restock their ice supply. Sea cows are generally run over "by accident", for the steaks, Trains do not float. The Yankees cannot play the Sea cows, as they cannot breath under water (neither can the cows, but they are better at holding their breath).

myself1935

That was the original point- that ships need the same protective equip. as trains because they destroy small crafts-
꒰•‿•꒱Jean

nanab

Trains have cattle bars, not ships and cars.

myself1935

Totally agree about congress-
l need to google sea cows and Yankees- just don't know enough about them yet-
l'll get back to you- in the meantime stay out of the state of FL.

See you later alligator
Jean

rswestley

Those sea cows sound like a force to be reckoned with. Do they hunt in packs? or do they just take off their mask? I watched part of the Yankees/Nationals baseball game last night and didn't see a single sea cow in the stadium. Are sea cows afraid of baseballs? The next time I go to Sea World should I leave my baseball at home? or should I wear it around my neck for protection. I'm also afraid of alligators and have introduced legislation that would kick Florida out of the United States. We need more sensible people in congress

myself1935

a drunken cattle guard is unreliable- it can open or close,. go up or down with no rhyme or reason...lean to the left or the right- in other words, let the cows out and not be coherent enough to call them back.

If you have never seen a cattle bar, I assume sober, both you and it-
just use your imagination and you'll see what l mean.

at sea the cows will tangle with small boats and sink them,

rswestley

I am confused... how does a drunken cattle guard cause boating accidents? Am I missing something here?

myself1935

good point- rswestley -
As l understand it, a lot if not most, boating accidents occur under the influence...

rswestley

Why don't they put 'cattle guards" on the front of boats like they do on locomotives... so they push the smaller boat out of the way rather than reducing it to toothpicks? Is it because it would ruin the fun of turning weekend sailors into shark bait? Me thinks some of those sea captains spend too much time playing tag with icebergs

myself1935

OMG- that's #1-
Thanks for warning- l might get capsized if l take this trip.

robf

Sssshhh.... the walls have ears

myself1935

exactly- that's our Queen Eliza 2 plowing into every other boat in sight-
good for a laugh?

robf

Yes, Jean?
A nautical distress call perhaps?

myself1935

@robf

Bjresh

Towing Master and Licensed in the Panama Canal Must be pretty good at what he does. I went to Japan from Seattle on a pretty big retrofitted WWII ship when I was 7 yrs. Neat - after we got our sea legs and stomachs. Thanks, msbonne,I like this one.

Watchman

Mmmm, not a course in the rules of the road. Duh... hard to paint lines on the water for the waves keeping moving. I sold my boat, it had a bad case of dry dock (cough)

Ilikeboats

Thanks mariolyn.

cute.

msbonne

Land Shark.

robf

Jury duty.

Juba1010

Go away.

msbonne

Jehovah's Witness.

robf

That doesn't look like very much candy Juba.

Juba1010

Candy gram

msbonne

Do not forget Maddy, July 2020 = Land Sharks.

Ms_Maddy

Ships are like sharks. If you want to avoid them, stay out of the water.

msbonne

I did not go there, I have the right of way anyway.

robf

Let's not even go there... encountering the POTUS flag, I mean...

msbonne

As I always fly the Master Ninja Sloth flag when boating, I ALWAYS have the right of way.

robf

Mariolyn, I expected you to come by, to study de fence of de sailor.

mariolyn

@Ilikeboats may be interested to see this.

puzzeljac

But where you sail is not important, that huge boat doesn't see you, so... that huge boat was the last you saw. ☻ And commercial shipping always takes precedence over pleasure craft. So even a good lawyer doesn't help. ☺ Smart book.

PS, I saw these things often, I stayed far away from them. ♥♥♥

robf

He met a ship, one stormy night
If they had passed he might have lived to find delight
But he sailed on the starboard side of the buoy
And it sailed on the port side, just as they will

(sung to the tune of "Morning Side of the Mountain" by Larry Stock and Dick Manning; covered by many, including Donny and Marie Osmond)

nanab

Where have you been young man?
