Lush green foliage and moss-covered rocks along the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail outside of Gatlinburg TN in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The Roaring Fork area of the Great Smoky Mountains offers up the classic Smoky Mountains River scenes and is a popular attraction for visitors to the National Park. The rich green colors at this location along the river. The classic features of a Great Smoky Mountains National Park River landscape were all present at this location along the Roaring Fork Motor Trail just outside of Gatlinburg TN. I was thrilled to see the lush green foliage along this section of the river. The vibrant greens on the moss-covered rocks in this location seemed to be too good to be real, and I immediately felt like I had stepped into some sort of fairy tale land when I first saw it. This image was shot while leading my recent Spring in the Smoky Mountains landscape photography workshop.
