Thank you ladies for sharing your experiences niccolino59 & Annick - we horse people are a special bunch for sure:))

Annick

I decided when my daughter stopped competing to become a judge so I still mingle with horses, ponies and riders at local Club shows. A great way to use some free weekend time and horsy people are great. :-)

Wonderful! I loved jumping in my younger days, until I had my riding accident and injured my spine, but it's still lovely to watch.

My daughters arab was still jumping happily at age 21 and now at age 23 he still enjoys teaching children how to ride. He also gets plenty of rest and he too, can frolic about in the field on a chilly sunny morning. I think I have a puzzle of him and my daughter jumping at a show about 10 years ago.

thankyou for sharing the information. its so very obvious that you love these horses dearly, and its so wonderful that they are so beautifully cared for.

Tinyandstaff, If he's not jumping at a show he is finding something in his paddock to jump on his own. Sometimes it's just in the air happy and on a cool Texas morning. Especially when the hay and feed wagon is on the way. The beauty of these spectacular athletes when they get excited. It is breathtaking to watch, when 40+ show horses let out of there stalls on a sunny cool morning begin at a full gallop thundering up and down there paddocks. As one begins they all follow. We have huge paddocks 4 and 5 acres with only 3-4 horses in each. With shoes on I can hear in the house as they begin there happy free time. The very busy state highway in front of the D4 will many times create a traffic problem because people stop to watch. These horses when they cannot be let out because of bad weather are put on treadmills built just for horses! They have to be exercised everyday. :))
