And clairezy, if you do the jet-boat tour, take a sweat shirt or jacket, even in the summer time. Trust me on that. The trip is very well worth it. The boat stops at places where no cars and even very few hikers can get to. You will see birds you never see anywhere else.

Thanks for the info. If I was about 40 years younger I might look seriously into this. I just love the out of doors and have done some canoeing/camping and a couple of small local trips in a rubber raft.

Yes Clairezy, this is one of the calmer stretches of the Snake River, thru Hells Canyon, although a lot of people raft it, also there are Jet Boat tours out of Lewiston Idaho that run Hells Canyon on a great "day trip" that run the rapids, going back down thru the rapids is much worse than going up as the speed must be kept up for control of the Boat, but well worth your time for the trip. By the way. The "Duckworth Co". of Lewiston Id. builds Jet Boats specifically for this purpose. Right out my back door, been there & done that.

I am tempted to say "cruising down the river on a Sunday afternoon" but if this is called Hell's Canyon I'm guessing this is the easy part and the are more "fun" parts to be had. Great Picture.
