Washington, D.C., July 1923. "Sunshine Girls." Also known as the Tiller Girls, a dance troupe originated by the British musical-theater impresario John Tiller. This glass negative is from the National Photo Company Collection. The Tiller Girls were forerunners of modern stage dancing, and the Rockettes were one of the resulting dance groups.
