Park City lies east of Salt Lake City in the western state of Utah. Framed by the craggy Wasatch Range, it’s bordered by the Deer Valley Resort and the huge Park City Mountain Resort, both known for their ski slopes. Utah Olympic Park, to the north, hosted the 2002 Winter Olympics and is now predominantly a training facility. In town, Main Street is lined with buildings built during a 19th-century silver mining boom.
Elevation: 7,000′

Me, too! :o)

Thats most likely it, Ellen, but I would have a slight problem with that. I like a yard.☺

PutterDutt

Could be that land is very costly, so houses get put on small lots, without much room between them.

I'm glad you enjoyed the splash of color, DixieGal. Thanks ☺

They are for people who like to live close together, I guess, Jill. I saw a photo of the whole hillside of these houses, maybe a hundred of them, and it was an amazing jumble of color. Thanks for your comment.

DixieGal

Such pretty and unique houses! Thank you for this great puzzle and the info, dendro!!

JillianB

Amazingly colourful, thanks for info.

PutterDutt

Well, she made it famous enough that I knew it and remembered! :o)

Thanks for the added info, dendro.

TO add to both of your comments, I goggled Park City and copied just the short facts and added them above....and here...Park City lies east of Salt Lake City in the western state of Utah. It's called "Little Boxes". I thought it was written by Joni Mitchell or Carole King - but I just Googled it and it's by Malvina Reynolds!! Obviously she didn't make it famous. Pete Seeger has a version as well.

Do you remember a song from many years ago that went:

Little boxes on a hillside,
Little boxes made of ticky-tacky.

It goes on to tell of the many colors of the little boxes. That flashed into my head when I looked at this photo. :o)
