Why are you reporting this puzzle?

The #1 song (in the US where I live) on my 21st birthday was the Beatles "Let It Be."
On my husband's 21st birthday, "Bridge Over Troubled Waters" by Simon and Garfunkel was at the top of the US charts. In light of this prediction, those songs do speak to our 2021 so far.

Great idea to look for #1 in the UK!! Oh Yes!
"...no more pencils, no more books, no more teachers dirty looks!"
WOW! What great & funny memories that calls up! Thank YOU @Lyricist

Lyricist

Sharimarie you are awesome - thank you! as a matter of fact last night i was determined not to be saddled with that stupid song so jumped the pond to see what was number 1 in the UK. School's Out by Alice Cooper. YES!!! As a matter of fact it triggered my memory - i was in college & when classes ended that summer i went up to spend a weekend with my best friend & her little sister at her parents' lake cabin and the first thing we did as soon as we got inside was blast that song on the record player! Thank you for that memory!

Sharimarie

YES they won most of the time!! Two of our boys and both of our girls made the high school teams and they were all league champions every year. Our oldest daughter's senior year they went undefeated until the final game at State! (Sort of like Gonzaga this year in March Madness.)

Did the kids win?

Sharimarie

LOL! @Lyricist sorry you got a pity party song. Maybe your 2021 is going to play out the way you responded, taking charge of your circumstances and refusing to be a victim that whines. You strike me as a positive, forthright person who enjoys life.

Sharimarie

Hey @Ianto somehow I think that fits you!! That was the motivational song for our kids soccer teams. Their mascot was a tiger and the coach broadcast the song over the loud speakers when they took to the home field. They adopted it as their pump up song and it would vibrate through the house from their rooms on game day morning.

Eye of the Tiger by Survivor.

Lyricist

oh for the love of....! Alone again Naturally by Gilbert O'Sullivan. i hated that song in 1972 and i hate it now! nothing about being alone bothers me - i just hate that whiney stupid song!

Lyricist

mookie how i envy you!!! that is awesome!

Sharimarie

Yes @generic_bear2 wouldn't we all! Maybe the part of the song that applies to your 2021is: "Your time has come to shine, all your dreams are on their way." Thanks for the visit.

O.K., where is my "Bridge Over Troubled Waters"? I would like to get over my troubles!! LOL

Mookie

Joy to the fishes in the deep blue sea, Joy to you and me!

Sharimarie

@Mookie THAT is a GREAT song, one of our college favorites. It happens to be my ringtone for my sister, so I hear it every time she calls. Thanks for the comment and for solving my puzzle.

Mookie

Joy to the World, by Three Dog Night! Lucky me.
