Thank u Dawn
This household my mind OR tool I may own will only b used with the standard good old American measurement. It was good enough for my dad its good enough for me.

We use metric, but the news measure big areas in football fields.

oynot

Thanks for the tag @ParsonWayne and the funny puzzle @firstdawn, also your funny comment :-)

firstdawn

Got it. Thanks.

bevpuzzler8

@bevpuzzler8 Bev can you tag that puzzle (Ohwhynot) for me again. I thought I bookmarked it and was going to look at it now, but I can't find it in my bookmarked cache. Thanks. Nev and Dixiegal both missing.

@rswestley
hell's bells man if I was 20 years younger I'd fill my dance card with j's.
My dancing shoes damn near wore out 20 yrs. ago. Thank you. Bev.

bevpuzzler8

@firtstdawn

bevpuzzler8

Dawn,
I left word for you on Ohwhynot puzzle check it out.

firstdawn

LOL to all of you!

rswestley

Good morning Miss Bev! I dont know much about sink holes, but I'm pretty sure that if I got swalloed up by a sink hole, Mother Earth would waste no time spitting me out. All's well in my world. Are you still teasing all the boys? :-)

"Bev the puzzler, pudding and pie,
Kissed the boys and made them cry,
When the boys came out to play,
Bev the puzzler squashed them like little bugs" (or something like that)
:-)

Have a great day, Bev! It's always a pleasure to hear from You!
(If only I was 20 years younger - and handsome - and rich - I would be wearing out your dancing shoes :-)

Hey J, how's by you? 9-17-21

rswestley

Very wise indeed, Sten :-)

peasterberg

Give some people an inch and they'll take a mile.

ParsonWayne

LOL, Sten.

I heard that even England is getting closer to accepting the metric system. Inch by inch...

bblessing

@ParsonWayne - no tire tracks on the hot-tub YET :-))))

ParsonWayne

Ben, do you drive over your hot tub very often? I hope no one is in it when you do.

PutterDutt

:o)

bblessing

oh yeah, room for the whole family, Ellen

PutterDutt

Room enough for several, eh?

bblessing

yup, just about the size of my hot-tub and when you close the cover, you can drive right over it safely.

kayboblee

Thanks for the tag, Dawn--enjoyed all the comments. ;-))

davehenry1

Or about the size of a six person hot tub ?

Bubble

Shucks - they're worth a lot more than unpolished :-)))

PutterDutt

Oh. Then I'm out. Don't bother with polish. :o(

Bubble

Only the cleanest, smoothest and nicely polished toenails, its a Canadian 'thing' Ellen.

PutterDutt

You measure in toenails????

Bubble

We're used to klicks (km) in Canada but mentally still use miles as well indiscriminately.
However, never got used to metric in England so I still think in inches, feet , toenails and yards.
Now, I also use ounces or grams when cooking, Hubb uses Imperial (or English in USA) and the whole lot is a mixed up bunch weighing 3 stone 12 pounds (English). ✿❛‿❛✿

firstdawn

LOL to all the comments. We use the metric system in medicine. They tried to change the mileage to Km and failed.

bevpuzzler8

Oh, my goodness Dawn. Thank goodness no one was hurt. 9-13-21

rswestley

I agree Ellen... a big laugh to mifune... along with mpp, PW, peasterberg and Bub. Good job all!

peasterberg

Would those be top loaders or front loaders?

ParsonWayne

They COULD have measured it in clothes dryers. Would that have been better?

PutterDutt

From my dog show trips to Canada I learned that 80 kph is the same as 50 mph, but that's about as far as I go.

PutterDutt

Big laugh to mifune!!!

morepiecesplz

Hey, it seems they know north and south... take your win.

@Ms_Maddy
@msbonne

jeribar8

Americans... gotta love them... we know how to do it
the easy way.

mifune17

Good thing no washing machines drive on this road……

MarinaNephele

A dangerous hole..

PutterDutt

Yup. I only (reluctantly) learned to use the metric system when I was working in Optical. ALL measurements on eye distance, seg heights, lens sizes and temple lengths are in millimeters.

Bubble

I would say it looks roughly the size of 45 tires laid end to end from the pickup truck ! ✿❛‿❛✿

Not good.
