I don't ever remember my great-uncle farmers growing any pumpkins...I'll bet they were my aunts' responsibilities in their "kitchen gardens". Pumpkins must have been plentiful, as evidenced by all the scrumptious pumpkin bread, pie, cookies, soup, not to mention, roasted and salted pumpkin seeds!! Granny, granny, pumpkin eater...
