Good-bye to Louisbourg, Cape Breton Island...you can see the fort across the harbour from our hotel

Link to information on Fort Louisbourg:

In June we travelled by rail from Vancouver (British Columbia) to Montreal (Quebec) where we spent five nights. We then took an overnight train to Moncton (New Brunswick). Next we drove to Prince Edward Island, Cape Breton (Nova Scotia), and flew home from Halifax.

I'll be late...don't hold supper...and especially the tea for me! Think I'll be drinking rum swizzles this trip...

lelabugosi

I'll provide the teabags.

porgy

Bed is made, rabbit stew for supper. (NOT OURS!)

lelabugosi

Alright then - please tell ......... ask ....... Jenny to make up a bed for me.

You're very welcome, Robbie...and Bermuda sounds good...rain here until at least Wednesday! :(

porgy

Come to Bermuda mate, soft pink sand and no footwear needed! That was a good tour gem, thank you!

gemstone

Right, lela...you can feel all those hard lumps through the soft sole, can't you? You'd better get some sturdy boots if you wish to travel with us and hike with Suzy and Jim! More rocks to climb at Peggy's Cove! ;D

lelabugosi

I have come to the painful conclusion that slippers are not really the ideal footwear for this beach.

gemstone

It would be, Jill...plus the water might be blue/green instead of cold, steel gray. ;D

This is a really lovely photo and I can imagine it with a blue sky and sunshine and it would look stunning. TFS

Our hotel was up a small hill behind us, Ardy...on the inside curve of the harbour, so we had to walk down to the beach to see the fort from here...but it was lovely to hear the surf breaking on the shingle and search for shells and rocks... ❤️❤️❤️

And we were the only ones on the beach, Andie...the season hadn't really started yet so there weren't many people around. We attended the first Beggars' Banquet of the year and it was only 1/3-1/2 full.

Here's a link but it has not been updated...i.e. it says that four choices of entree are available whereas we had only lobster or chicken to choose from...and we had no draperies to block out the light...just venetian blinds:

You had a good view from your hotel. Faye. Too bad the weather wasn't more cooperative. Thanks.♥♥
