Oh I have!! Impie in The Hague posts them, too, of Wild Ringnecks that she feeds in her back yard over there! I'm in VT & I have loved meeting her! One of her parrots lost it's tail, so I could provide details on regrowth. This is Max to your left! I'll go to one of my posts & send it to you with the @ sign! Fun Chatting, Thank you! ..Kathie

Oh, how wonderful! Can you post some pictures of him as a puzzle?

Bikerkath

Thanks, Bernadette; you're right. Segue: I offered his cages to local Parrot Rescue, who tried to get me to take one of the BIG birds they had, I said no, haven't got the 20
yrs to give a parrot; then 3 wks later an email, a 2-oz Clearwing Budgie had landed in a back yard in a town nearby, could not stay at the Big-bird rescue, he was an hors d'ouevre on the wing, would I meet him? Long story short, yes, I was in tears when he arrived, this little nugget in a big travel cage, I reassembled Max's sleep cage & Oscar is in it, 7 mo now! He is Not Max, but he sings with me & my guitar! I love him, too...;-)

He sounds like a real sweetheart and smart as a tac! I'm sure you miss him terribly...Bernadette

Oh, he had a good life! I paid the mortgage, but it was Max's house! He loved Boots my Tuxedo cat, more than me, though! All he Ever said was "errt, whatryadoin'?"
I would reply, "I'm making Coffee!" He'd ask over & over, same response! That was it but he would give a 'kiss' on request, his beak to my top lip, over & over & over; he was a kissin' fool, how I loved him! I sometimes still see him climbing the stairs of my town house, he followed the cat Everywhere & Max would go upstairs, climb the bureau drawers to the top where his sleep cage was & put himself to bed! My sweetie-tweetie

Hi @Bikerkath Do they have the ability to talk? You must have really taken good care of him for him to live so long. I'm sure you really miss him...Bernadette

I had a green one who died last June at 23 yrs old; walked & flew all over the house & loved the cat! If he was on my shoulder, his screech could numb my eardrum, but he was part of the family, cage door always open! My Max...many Jidigi people know him.

Indian ringneck parakeets are quite popular companion birds, thanks in part to their beautiful coloring, medium size, and social nature. These birds are highly intelligent and enjoy learning new things. But they do require an attentive caretaker who can spend time handling them every day to keep them tame and prevent them from becoming bored. If you're interested in bringing home one of these birds, first learn about some of the fascinating traits Indian ringneck parakeets possess.

Indian ringneck parakeets have been kept in captivity for centuries but were regarded as an "ornamental,” or hands-off, bird species. Ringnecks still have a reputation of being somewhat nippy and difficult to tame. However, those who have grown to know these birds have found they can make loving pets when hand-fed as babies and properly socialized.
