This is a very good idea!

Yep, makes me chuckle when they talk up recycling today. We were already doing it years ago.

Nicely done bbandit. I was born in 1941. Sounds like we were living in the same era. My, how things have changed. Frankly, I like the old times better.

LionelV : Grew up post WWII era so was ingrained with the thought process that nothing went to waste. Dining room china cabinet came with a slightly warped door that had a full glass insert. Furniture company sent a repair man to correct the problem. He brought a new door and installed it. When I inquired what he would do with the old door, it was to go in the trash. Asked if I could have it. Took out the glass insert and had a mirror cut to fit. Now I have a matching wall hung accent mirror for my dining room set that I would imagine no one else has.

Love your thought process with the discarded piano body. Well done. :-))

Hello bbandit. I was in the piano business for many decades. I am retired now. However, this piano case was not a used piano. The German manufacturer of pianos from which this unit came from was tossing it because it was not perceived as perfect. There were 12 more of these cases that one of the workers came up with this idea of a bookcase. I landed one of them and stored it in my warehouse in Canada. I sold to a local pianist when I retired. Thought you would like to know that. Lionel
