Victoria Crowned Pigeon, Basking

This splendid bird was enjoying the warm walkway at the Toronto Zoo. They spread their feathers in the sun to help keep them dry and kill germs. I think this is the biggest species of pigeon in the world. You can see more about them here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victoria_crowned_pigeon.

Hard to believe this is a pigeon. Ours sure don't look like this! If they did, I could put up with them a lot better. Thanks for posting this.
