Thanks Picksycap :)

How wonderful :) only 2 minutes from my door in Haworth. A real treat to find this pic/jigsaw, thank you :)

Wow seidhb! Very impressed. Thanks for working that out :)

Also, for those who are interested, a two pence piece is almost exactly 1 inch across (25.9 mm).

OK. Nerd here. I made a rough count of the number of coins shown around the middle of the sphere, and assumed that it is in fact a sphere (I counted more from north to south than from east to west, but that could be an artifact of the photo or my ability to count). The total was 100. I doubled that to estimate the entire circumference, plugged that total (200) into the appropriate formula, and came out with 12,732 two pence pieces. So I'd guess that 10,000 is a better estimate than 28,000!

Very good link. Created by a talented young man. He built a spherical frame to fix the coins to.
It's interesting how he set the coins out.

Lovely puzzle, thanks for sharing.

It might be fairly easy to roll it to the Bank, the bigger problem would be getting it through the doors! ;)

Hi Fingerbreaker. Well I found this article where the sculpture is auctioning off shares in it to recover his costs. This one also says 28,000 coins, although others say 10,000, so I'm not sure now.

Un coût, mais aussi de la patience pour assembler toutes ces pièces
Merci pour la photo

A clever sculpture. I wonder how much it cost to do?
Well, the coins cost 20,000 pence. That's £200 for starters.
I note the converging lines of longitude.
