Why are you reporting this puzzle?

A short-lived piece which appeared in the wall a couple of weeks ago. Sadly it has since disappeared ... a few of the more noticeable items have also gone. I doubt if it were a local, as we know to leave them for the enjoyment of others and to brighten our walk the next time we pass by. As it was only the more obvious ones which seem to have disappeared (like this with the bright sky blue being caught by the sun), probably someone just passing along who liked the look of them.

By the way, this wren was painted to replace the previous wren which had recently disintegrated - there's a puzzle of that one too in my archives! ;)

Thank you Martina - glad that you liked it! All the best, Tom.

I'm glad I was able to put this beautiful picture together. Martina

HA!

Highlander_40

That's the one (although I'd allow examination for pleasurable purposes!) ... and I'd probably throw in a few expletives for good measure!

lolol...looked up the curse "The curse of the pharaohs or the mummy's curse is a curse alleged to be cast upon anyone who disturbs the mummy of an ancient Egyptian, especially a pharaoh. This curse, which does not differentiate between thieves and archaeologists, is claimed to cause bad luck, illness, or death."

I suggested writing something like "please leave this where you found it" on the back, a long time ago Bird; but she doesn't like the 'negativity' that a message like that creates. She said that as most people are naturally honest, it would seem to question their integrity when they pick it up for a closer look (as many people do), before replacing it. Personally I'd go for something a lot stronger, possibly involving Pharos Tomb Curses!

:-)

Highlander_40

@bluebird42 - ah my mistake, sorry! :) There are still a couple of pieces of hers that I haven't posted yet, so keep your eyes open! ;) Cheers, Tom.

Highlander_40

Thanks Bird and Sandra - it's a pity, but the artist has said that she won't give up and that she'll paint more to replace them. She'll either hide them better or give them slightly more muted colours.

Thank you Highlander for all the instructions. I just read about the moose in the hoose after doing the lovely mouse puzzle. And please pardon my loose American English. When I said "know your art was appreciated" writing correctly I should have said "know one's art was appreciated" I was aware it was not Highlander_40's art, rather it was done by an artist who prefers to remain anonymous. She does lovely work, and I expect to do more of your puzzles of her art.

Sorry to hear about the loss of this unique art.

On the plus side Murfy, we have TWO(!) pairs of wrens nesting in our garden this year! :) The early morning song is wonderful.

:-(((

Thanks @bluebird42 - but I'm afraid I can't accept the credit for the artwork. The info. behind the story of this series can be found if you copy & paste this -

otherwise, if you type "Dreepy Art" into the search box, you'll find the others and the info. is attached to the "long wooden painting of insects". All the best, Tom.

It's nice to know your art was appreciated enough for someone to want it in their own home. But nicer if they'd just come often to enjoy it in the place it was made for. Thanks, for sharing this one before it's so well appreciated it disappears.
