Gina, my sister in law is from Conneaut, PA. She was adopted and was trying to find her adopted parents. Supposedly they were Amish. Maybe your hubby is related to her. They presently live near Sharon, PA. Was you hubby ever Amish? The Midwest gets really cold in the winter. Lots of snow.

PuzzleG

I'll bet! My Hubby & I have only had to be apart a few times since he got out of the Navy, & we missed each other so much! Hubby just asked me if I told you that my Dad was born in Conneautville, PA. I don't know how close you are to there, but at least it's the same state. My Mom was from Toledo, OH & our family lived there til I was two when we moved to San Diego. Mom & Dad talked about how awfully cold it gets in the midwest. I've visited there in Summer & it is beautiful.

Your pool looks as nice as any in-ground pool. Above ground pools can look just as good as an in-ground pool. I know what you mean about watching when people are in the pool. You just never know.

I think the in ground looks so much nicer. Just wish I didn't have to go upstairs to see it. It's behind the garage so looking out my bedroom deck is the only way to see the kids. My daughter said not to worry cause her brother lets her up for air between dunking! That boy!

Would be interesting to see the outside of the pool. We always had above ground pools until we moved here. We had to put our pool way back in the yard due to the septic lines and had a hard time figuring where we would put an above ground pool, so went with an inground. If we had to do i again, we would go above ground. I am not a good swimmer, so don't go in the deep end at all. Son and daughter hardly ever get in it. Don't know why. They used to always swim. They go way out when we go to the ocean. And they are good swimmers.

Yes... beautiful concrete. The pool is an above ground pool that is made to be either above or below ground. The friend who brought the back hoe to dig out the hill also does concrete. He told hubby they could do the concrete for less than building a deck. Hubby then put in the retaining wall and used wood from the deck that was around the old above ground pool to make a railing. When I get home I will take another pic so you can see the other side. He also drilled holes in the railing and inserted solar lights. Looks very pretty!

Joy, is that concrete around the pool? I wondered how you did that with an above ground pool? Sure looks pretty.

joyfulnoise4

Thank you Gina! Anxious to get home and see him tomorrow!

PuzzleG

Yes he does ~ is he in the jar yet? If not, I'm putting him, & all our sweet wonderful Hubbies in. They deserve it!

joyfulnoise4

Thanks Gina! Hubby does good work!

Gorgeous pool! Love your yard, & the swing too!

spaklies

Hi o and a xxx hope you all well xxx lol and hugs to you and joyful too xxxx

oldandancient

When we moved here from Ohio, we had a swing like yours. Could not move it. Gave it along with a picnic table to a friend who helped us pack up the truck. Must be one of those moving tips. If you can't pack it up, give it to a neighbor.

All soul sisters welcome! The swing was given to me by a neighbor that was moving across the country and couldn't take it along! It is in need of a power wash and stain! On hubby's list of many things that need done!
