well there you go Monday got off to a no start. KBoy is in his room playing. CLady is in her room praying. Lela is with Mrs B obeying. P squirt is somewhere decaying. Couple of days we can all go a-maying, except that the may trees don't have any leaves never mind blossom. I'm just only saying it's a bit quiet here, must be all partied out think I go into a nice dark corner and make up some news, er I mean I'll sit at my desk and type up the news

More's the pity, GGL, I never met him. I was in the regular infantry, the 1st Infantry Division, The Big Red One (If you're gonna be one, be a Big Red One!) and we never encountered any Special Forces. The nearest ones to us were probably 20 or 30 miles west of us in the central highlands.

I was an Airborne Ranger, but the Army's philosophy in Vietnam was not to field Ranger Battalions, but to disperse the Rangers among the regular infantry units, raising the level of proficiency across the board in all units. And in our case it worked. I was the only Ranger in my company (usually about 200 men but in normal field conditions actually about 100 men) and there were several times when we came up against tactical situations or fieldcraft problems where I was the best qualified to solve them. So the Captain would call me forward and put me in charge for a while (I was a Lieutenant) and afterward I'd go back to my platoon.

Well of course there is a reason for all of this symmetry but at least when my grandchildren visit the forest they will know which ones granny planted, that's if they haven't been redone by now

When the French planted their South Vietnam rubber plantations long, long ago they used surveying instruments to achieve precise placements and distances, for maximum growth and yield as adult trees. The resulting canopy blocked most of the sun from reaching the ground, so undergrowth was minimal and, of course, they kept it clear.

Walking through a mature rubber plantation was the most surreal experience I've ever had! These tall, smooth tree trunks were perfectly aligned, and as you walked along they formed an ever-shifting kaleidoscope of straight lines at 90º, 45º, 22 1/2º, even 11 1/4º, always shifting, always moving and snapping into realignment. It was weird, so weird that sometimes I'd just have to close my eyes, or look down at the ground. My men complained about it, too, in ghostly whispers. Totally surreal, eerie, almost spectral. Spooky!

been there done that, what can I say. Piece of cake when you put four in a hole, wonder why my friend never thought of that. He faffs on making straight lines and straight diagonal lines all a bit retentive. I did find Dogdaze a big help so bought him a nice warm pasty. I called in at the pencil factory on my way home and bought a big tin of pencils, should last me a while, If only I could remember not to lick the darned things they would last longer.

The bride and gown are lovely...but I think long gloves would have enhanced the charm of this setting. Glad the tiff was minor and of short endurance.

thousands-of-cakes........Up until the 15th.c the Bugosi line pregnancies were indeed only 5 months gestation - however, since that time, the unborn children have decided to delay their presence in the public eye for longer and longer periods.......I believe this is due to the evolution of our family - the extra time allows for further development of our outstanding qualities, i.e. beauty, intelligence, spirituality, and generosity........I refused to leave the womb for 11 months, 22 days and 16 1/2 hours, which is the longest time on record.........

Pretty dress, reminds me of a First Communion dress. I think the 2nd bridal gown was most beautiful. I thought the Bugosi line pregnancies were only 5 months gestation!!! Drats, I was hoping we wouldn't have to wait so long to see the cherubs if indeed ''things happened'' on the wedding night. thanks Lela!! :))))

We pay homage, which is always due, to Mrs. Bugosi for her lustrous, shimmering wedding gown, in which any old hag (present company included) would look like an angel. However, angelic or not, this is the ugliest bride I've seen in years! I mean, not just ugly, you-gly! Oy!

However, getting my manners under control, let me just say that I know this bride loves nature, in spite of what it did to her.

For those who may or may not be interested, for this 'study in beauty' I used a Skoda666 multi-zoom-refracting-oculascope camera with diaphragmenting-lenticular-tilt lens, mounted on an acme four-legged-tripod........for the lighting I used 600 3.5 watt megatronic-vacuum bulbs spaced at a distance varying between 3 cms. and 13.8 ft...........The bridal gown was designed by Mrs.Bugosi, and the subject's soft complexion is a result of a concoction of tadpole secretions and Lux soap........
This photo will be included in my forthcoming book "Nubile nymphs of the world"..........

She does indeed look lovely. I am still a bit tired from networking etc plus I need a new pencil so I have been given a few days off to collect myself. Hurrah! So in my spare time I am going tree planting. I have a friend who can plant 15,000 a day I will be trying to beat him, can't be that difficult after all these years of gardening. Out in the open air all day it will be such fun
