Ok, thanks porgy. I get it now. I'm betting the folks of the village wish Emperor Hirohito had never stopped in for a visit, tho the tourist money probably makes up for some of the inconvenience. Don't blame you a bit for not wanting to drive, I imagine it would be very hairy. Thanks for the info, it's quite interesting :-)

Thanks again porgy for the information.

You're welcome Cyndi. Jenny and I hired a driver for the day primarily so I could see the sites as well. When I drove, I found it a bit hairy on the narrow roads and parking was difficult in the popular places.

Thanks Porgy for this info. Very interesting....Cyndi

I read about it online. In 1921 Emperor Hirohito visited the village because it was considered the most beautiful village in England by an English architect. Because Hirohito was considered a God, the Japanese tourists have made this a major point of interest and considered a spiritual village. I'm not very knowledgeable at all, I just look up a lot of stuff on the internet! Hee hee.

I'm curious about it being a spiritual village too porgy....

You're welcome porgy. How is it the spiritual village of the Japanese? I'm not following you on that part. It sounds like an invasion, not so good for the folks in the village.

Lovely photo deadeye, thank you. In the Cotswolds and the spiritual village of the Japanese. We were there last year and literally bus loads of Japanese tourists were all over the village. Some villagers have erected signs written in Japanese "Private, please keep out."
