Welcome to Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island...birthplace of Canada

Tulips around City Hall

In June we travelled by rail from Vancouver (British Columbia) to Montreal (Quebec) where we spent five nights. We then took an overnight train to Moncton (New Brunswick). Next we drove to Prince Edward Island, Cape Breton (Nova Scotia), and flew home from Halifax.

Short tulips are a great idea, Faye. I'll be watching for pics when they come up. Positive thinking! Dee

You're very welcome, petsmom. I'm glad you like them. I planted a dozen double red tulips in a pot on our balcony about two weeks ago. I chose short tulips and planted them lower in the pot so they have a chance against the wind. They are in a protected corner but we're on a river so it can get breezy...fingers crossed! Faye ;D

I love tulips. These are especially pretty. Thanks for sharing them with us, gemstone. I think the pots are a great idea, too. I may try that next spring. It's a good idea.

They had to use pots, Suzy...there was more sidewalk than dirt! LOL But they did look lovely. ❤️

Tulips always brighten a day. What a neat idea to have them planted in pots around City Hall - it gives them a more interesting look than being planted in a formal flower bed.

Each pot held only one colour, Ardy, and there must have been at least a dozen pots...a few really huge. It's amazing how many varieties there are of tulips nowadays...but purple seems to be a favourite of many. ;D

Purple seems to be the colors for tulips in Canada this year - Montreal and now on PEI. Gorgeous, Faye. I like the blue and yellow in the center of these. Thanks. ♥♥
