Heidi, absolutely, even down to the tongue. ♥♥♥

Surreal_Heidi

A perfect predator.

ulangariver

Jackie, you and me too. ♥♥♥

ulangariver

Donna, I think you're right - there wouldn't be much meat left. ♥♥♥

ulangariver

Ank, there is no such thing as "sweet licks" here! :-))) ♥♥♥

Didn't know this Nev, Thank you.

dhi

A lick from a tiger would most likely leave it (your arm) completely abraided.

puzzeljac

Ugh, then I never want to get a sweet lick of a tiger. ☺ That tongue looks like a grater. No, I had no idea. Thanks Nev. ♥♥♥

Janazlouky

I think Max knows a lot, maybe even this ☺☺☺

ulangariver

Jana, we're always learning new things. I wonder if King Max knew all about this?! :-))) ♥♥♥

ulangariver

Lia, I haven't either. I had no idea. ♥♥♥

Janazlouky

Interesting, nature is perfect, thanks for the new knowledge☺♥☺

Lia

Never seen such a picture. Incredible!!

dhi

I am okay, mine came out when I was 2. I saw this in a documentary, and close-up, these barbs are terrifying. It makes you wonder how they get the shreds out of their mouth without the benefits of toothpicks, floss and mouth wash.

ulangariver

Donna, that's a good way to rip out the tonsils, isn't it?!! :-))) ♥♥♥

dhi

They are actually curved hooks that face backwards into the throat to help with the actual feeding mechanism, a bit like a fish hook.

ulangariver

Jill, it is indeed quite incredible. ♥♥♥

JillianB

Golly that close up of his tongue is positively scary!

dhi

I think so too.

ulangariver

Donna, it sounds like a "progression" in effectiveness. ♥♥♥

dhi

I know my cat's tongues are uncomfortable on bare skin so it makes sense that a bigger cat's would be even more effective.

ulangariver

Linda, exactly right. Mother Nature has served him well. ♥♥♥

ulangariver

Vips, you are not only a pretty woman, but you are smart too!! :-))) ♥♥♥

ulangariver

JacquiB12, apparently so.
I think I'll just keep my distance. :-))) ♥♥♥

ulangariver

Ardy, I didn't even know it was rough in the first place, let alone having the capabilities it has. ♥♥♥

That it does, 40 of them, what we learn here.

ulangariver

Bobbie, it's nice to be entertained with good puzzles, and an added bonus if we're learning something too. ♥♥♥

ulangariver

Jaklien, I think the human brain uses the "new things" to replace the things we have forgotten. ♥♥♥

ulangariver

Robbie, there are over 40 posts in this series, so keep a few "memory cells" spare for the ones still to come.

ulangariver

Ianto, yes, the tiger's tongue was made that way to help it to survive. ♥♥♥

ulangariver

Bev, I'm learning lots of things too. Seen up close, that tongue sure looks nasty. ♥♥♥

tekchal2

He's a meat eater and no one is going to cut it up for him and so that's what he needs.

olando

That's why I never kiss them:-)

That's what carnivore tongues are for....

ringleader

That's one cat I do not want to lick me. lol I knew it was rough but didn't think it was that rough. Thanks, Nev.

pasta

Both very interesting. I did not know, but now I do, and it's all because of you!! :)

Jaklien

I also learn a lot, but in between I forget a lot as well :-(

porgy

I agree with Bev, certainly have learnt a lot, thanks Nev!

Isn't that the point.

Wow, it can do all that, it's a good thing there isn't a fork in there too.
Just me being a little contrite. Thank you Nev. I have learned a great many things from your puzzles, and that's the truth!! 11-21-2020
