Well spotted, Hoff.

msbonne

It is NOT like beer.

It really is a health food. Actually it's full of vitamins and is a vegetable and yeast extract. And it's made in Port Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Yay! I have been eating it for the last 71 years.

Ms_Maddy

Vegemite is a health food. Like beer.

Juba1010

I think I smoked some of this back in the 70’s.
It was black tar something.

msbonne

My pleasure.

:::crunch crunch crunch:::

Thanks Hoff... yer a pal.

msbonne

And chips to you too hippo.

hippo

I just settle for marmite crisps now (chips to you guys).

msbonne

Then you realized it was NOT good, and withdrew the marmite.

hippo

Used to have marmite and peanut butter on toast... many years ago...

jimez

What's a vegemite? Some kind of bug?

JM_Cookie

Is that the stuff you use to kill rats?

I will just add that Marmite is wimpy and tasteless in comparison!

I was born not long after WW!! and was reared on Vegemite! Best with a generous amount of butter and cheese! But for an interesting taste sensation, add a nice tangy marmalade. If you're feeling a bit seedy, Vegemite somehow restores one's equilibrium.

msbonne

If you scraped the rest away, added some very rare roast beef, that would be an improvement.

Ms_Maddy

You must still be able to see the bread or cracker. That is a rule.

msbonne

Seems a pretty good chart to me....
