Midsummer night sky (easy)
Why are you reporting this puzzle?
This unlikely cloud formation occured around midnight during midsummer night in the northern skies of Hamburg, Germany. What might be mistaken for moonlight filtering through the clouds was actually residue sunlight, the sun having set barely 2 hours before. The photo doesn't do justice to the impression the clouds made, it felt like some mad artist had been at work on the sky.
The photo was taken with a Canon compact camera with F/4.5 aperture, 0.10 sec exposure, a focal length of 15 mm, and ISO 1600 sensitivity setting.
