;-))

Bill_I_Am

Sounds good to me, too, Gayle.

Plumpossum

...woman after my own heart...

Thanks, Plum. I don't do hectic either. We've had our tree up the entire year—it's a small blown-glass tree that's about six inches high and sits on the windowsill. It's green with white blobs to make you think snow.

Each year I order fresh L.L. Bean wreaths for a few dear friends. I've never ordered on for myself but last year, after the one friend had the wreath on her front door for about eight weeks, she returned it to me. That was late January, so I hung the wreath inside on a door in the living area. It hung there until late April and I finally put it in the cellar. The dehumidifier ran all summer in the cellar until cold weather, then it's heated to 58º. Just a few days ago I got the wreath out of the cellar and hung it back up on the door in the interior living area. It's almost like a dried-flower arrangement with drab colors. The entire wreath is dried to a crisp; not a single needle dropped and it still has some of the balsam fragrance when you stand real close. That's the extent of the hecticness for this year. :-)

Plumpossum

Thanks, Gayle. I do not "do" "hectic" any more. Life is too short. I hope your Christmas season isn't too hectic, either. And I hope Santa is very good to you -- and all the Jigidi gang.

Bommom

Interesting way to turn on the Christmas lights. Around here they just flip a switch. Not as grand. I hope your Christmas season isn't too hectic. :-)

Plumpossum

Yes, fortunately, Hanne!

Elfie

Arrhhhh Varda - you can use a computer to a lot more than a TV - :-))))))

Plumpossum

Thanks, Hanne. It is wonderful not to have an umbilical connection to the TV. Now I have an umbilical connection to my computer. Tsk tsk...
Thanks, Pat. Maybe the Inn will start a Christmas fireworks tradition in other places.

patw

Merry Christmas to you too, Plum. I love fireworks; never heard of having them at Christmastime.

Elfie

Isn't it great not to have to be ready for special "o'clocks" but be free?? We've lived without TV for 15 years and we see what we want to on the computer....:-)))))

Plumpossum

You're welcome to come to my home, PKH, but my antiquated TV was disconnected from cable service years ago when my sister moved away.

pumpkinhead

Do you mind if I join you at your home and we can maybe watch this on tv together? ;)

Plumpossum

Yes, Hanne. Tsk...

Elfie

It's gorgeous Varda - and I simply adore your phrase "parking can be a severe test of one's religion." Isn't it just SOOOOO true.... you might end up having none.... thanks :-))))))

Plumpossum

Bill, I have no control over either the fires or the fireworks. I don't even visit the Mission Inn to see its fireworks -- I'm allergic to crowds, and parking can be a severe test of one's religion.

Bill_I_Am

Fireworks? They're pretty, but haven't you all had enough fires recently? I'm just sayin'… Tsk.
