Why are you reporting this puzzle?

At a local lake last evening, we spotted 2 herons. They stayed pretty still allowing me to snap their pics.

Judy, you do not know how thrilled we were. It was so awesome. We had seen them flying over but never that close. It had a huge wing span. The creek was in the middle of the woods, so surprised it didn't get a wing clipped on a tree. They are so pretty.

jals

Oh how fun! I'll bet that made your day. I would have been thrilled. :-)

At our last house near Raleigh, hubby was disc golfing in the park. Kelli and I were along for the exercise. There is a creek in the park and this huge blue heron came flying by along the creek. It looked huge. We were so close. It was so awesome.

They are a lot of fun to watch, Donna. They like water, so the only time we see them is if we go to a body of water and get lucky, like I did the other night.

We have blue herons here as well as egrets, plovers, and other marsh birds. They are so beautiful

jals

Thanks for trying, John, glad you enjoyed the pic. :-))

jals

Thanks Donna! I was very pleased with them. I had to use Hubby's shoulder as a tripod for some of them. lol

21 seconds again, and off the board!! Doesn't matter, Judy, enjoyed the pic. XXX

Your heron pictures are beautiful.

I think it could have been a strip of sand. Hubby thought the lake was way down last night.

All too soon, Maria, all too soon!
Thanks Merrie!
Probably not in Nat Geo. lol But thank you.
I am a lazy photographer. I don't get up in the middle of the night to catch a comet, or even get up early to catch a sunrise. There was a really neat photo taken earlier at Chimney Rock out in Western Nebraska that I greatly admired, but the photographer had camped right there that night and waited for the shot. Impressive! lol

I thought it looked like snow also in the thumbnail size. Thanks, Watchman, for saying it first so I didn't think I was crazy(-er than usual) for thinking that. lol
Judy, you did great with these photos! It was lucky that the herons participated so nicely. Soon we will be seeing your photos on National Geographic.

Watchman

This picture has an eerie feel of snow on the ground. ;-)

Thanks Maria!
