Why are you reporting this puzzle?

I had not seen both parents trying to feed the babies at the same time. It was very crowded!

Thank you - I am flattered

Brie1648

I think I will send to the RSPB magazine especially as the little tree sparrow is under threat

laurajane

There...I think I have caught up with your most recent puzzles. I do enjoy you and your photography, my friend!

laurajane

Have you tried submitting these shots to a birding magazine, Bren? Youu should try Birds & Blooms.

Brie1648

Oh I agree with that - absolutely fascinating to watch.

irmachac

It is interesting to watch them. Sometimes it's better than TV shows :-))

Brie1648

Thank you. Amazingly, the adults are back at the box probably getting ready for a third set of chicks!

irmachac

You were at the right time at the right time. Very nice photo. Thanks a lot

Brie1648

They have gone. There was a lot of twittering and cheeping from the trees. I am not sure if one couldn't get out of the box. One of the adults kept going to the box and chirping but I couldn't hear any little cheeps from the box. The adult didn't come back this afternoon so maybe there was no one in the box or it had died.
Oh 30!! Today was about 25 which was perfect and even the breeze was warm - most unusual but clear blue skies all day. We haven't had rain for ages either and the clay soil is as hard as rocks. The garden looks good though.

Jumble

Great picture Bren, I thought the babies would have flown by now.

We have had 30c here all week, I can't remember the last time it rained. The grass everywhere is yellow.

Pammi

Ha! Ha! What a great picture and those hungry little mouths will take as much as Mum and Dad can give. ♥♥♥♥

Brie1648

A glorious day today but yesterday it was cool with the sea fog and I was so cold in bed I had to put the blanket back on. Where's our 30c????

goingsilver

It has been scorching hot. The dogs - yes, even Elsa - are lethargic and I am looking forward to the coolness of Autumn! Your sparrows are certainly doing their bit to increase the population! I was chuffed to see a juvenile woodpecker stuffing his beak then turning to allow mum to feed him. He is so cute with his schoolboy cap - or schoolgirl beret!

Brie1648

Is it hot down there? We had a 'sea fret' for most of the day. It rolled in like smoke and the temperature dropped like a stone.

Brie1648

I hope it was a family feed fest and not an attempt for the next clutch! One of the adults brought more dried grass to the box - surely not for nest building!

goingsilver

Good to see them sharing parental responsibility!
