Jacki, it sounds like you make a very good move.
I grew up with sparrows on the farm and they make
lots of messes on farm equipment, etc.
Patti, there are a lot of these birds in our city.

I had never seen a house sparrow until I moved to Cambridge, MA (across the river from Boston). Big city living. The house sparrows were everywhere, dirty grey and begging in the parks with the dirty pigeons. When I moved down here to Cape Cod, there were very few of them, and the few I saw were CLEAN and one of the most dramatically colored of the sparrows. What a difference a lack of soot and automotive emissions makes!


They need food too. Thanks, Floyd for letting them all eat.

Not my favorite bird, but they do have a great color pattern.
