Cute! It looks like a paper photo not an image on metal(tintype). They learned how to put images on paper in the late 1800's but it wasn't really common to the public until the early 1900's. By the 1920's film cameras were beginning to be available to the public and we no longer depended on the traveling photographer. Of course there were still photographer shops around. I love that chair as well but I've always been attracted to barley-twist which is the name of the style of the back legs, front stretcher, and back outer posts.
