In Today's Daily Jigsaw Puzzle, we visit Callejón de los Sapos, or "Alley of the Toads." It is a celebrated street in Puebla, a city in central Mexico renowned for its colonial architecture and deep historical roots.

Founded in 1531, Puebla became a cultural and economic hub, famous for its baroque buildings, Talavera pottery, and UNESCO World Heritage status.

Callejón de los Sapos is located in the city's historic center, an area filled with vibrant buildings that showcase Puebla's colonial legacy.

The street's unusual name comes from colonial times, when floods from the nearby San Francisco River created pools that attracted toads, leading locals to call it Callejón de los Sapos. Today, a small fountain featuring a toad nods to this history.

Known for its antique shops, art galleries, and weekend flea market, Tianguis del Callejón de los Sapos is an alley that offers visitors a chance to find rare collectibles, traditional crafts, and local art. Evenings here are lively, with musicians filling the streets with music, creating a festive and welcoming atmosphere ♥

Nice long street, to do a lot of shopping and spending. By the time you get to the end
your purse might be empty. It is a lovely picture. Thank you. 11-13-24
