Summer vacation for many people is an escape to a boat. Sailing along the coast from Maine to Mexico (or however far one can go on a 2 week vacation is still popular. Sail all day and put in at a different harbor each evening. The Talisman is a sloop (one mast) from Salem, Massachusetts.

Sailing? Well, a common saying around here is "a boat is a hole in the water into which you pour money." My guess is that a boat like this one is affordable by CEOs of moderate to large size companies. Also by others with large sized incomes and the ability to live cheaply in all other aspects besides the boat.

is it affordable Jacki?

Rettch, it's surprising how many like to come anchor here since there are no facilities -- no movie houses, no fuel pumps, no stores. Just deer and horses in the meadow, bird concerts, Canada geese looking for handouts on the water, osprey overhead, herons on the shore. . .

Spending a little time in areas such as the one where it is presently anchored wouldn't be to hard to take for a few days.

I think I'd find it confining for long trips, Ardy. I did do a 2 week sailing cruise in the Westward Isles some years ago, but there were many islands to anchor near and walk around. Wet humid hugs are most welcome! I can offer the same.

It looks like a wonderful way to spend a vacation but I wonder how I would do. I think I'll stay on land with brief excursions on boats. Thanks, Jacki. Wet, humid good morning hugs.
