I have this condition and it recurs frequently. It's not too bad if it's just one cat. When the next one climbs up, I am pretty well pinned. On rare occasion the biggest of the 3 crawls up (I hastily learned how to take a selfie the first time) and then breathing is hard to do...yup, very familiar with this chronic condition... !! :)))

My first cat (as an adult), the first night we were together, she lay next to me, both on our right sides, with her head on my face. It was so sweet...

The best part of the day---when they share their presence

Our little dog does this to hubby, it's really funny.

"Can't do that just now, I've got a cat on my lap!"
(Sits down quickly and grabs nearest cat.)

I also have this problem.

That is a problem, whether I am sitting in a chair or laying down in bed. ;-))

Sam pins me against the arm of the couch. I realize as the rigor mortis is setting in, and move to the other couch.

I believe it can be overcome, but it is not easy :-)
