....mauve with white edges. The first one of the Summer - in the back garden. It's only about 2" high. The leaves were split in a hail storm that we had yesterday!

Thanks Dave, Floyd and Ami :)))

Beautiful color, like the shape of the bud!!!

Very nice.
Thank you Rob.

It sure is a pretty thing!!

Thanks Florrie, Suzy (groan!), and Shirley:)))

What a sweet little flower, Thanks, Rob.

Hail to the Hearty Thai Ginger!!!!

Thanks Denise - I'm just wishing it was a little larger:))))

What a sweet new flower in a marvelous colour.
Thanks Rob☺☺

Thanks Cathy:)) Nothing else was damaged in the hail - and we were wondering where all the birdies went, but they are all back today:)))

That's how small/big it is Barb:))) I only planted it last year and this is the 2nd flowering:))) Thanks :))

Thanks snooker, Beekay, Lunie, Nev (Ha,Ha!!), Patti ( It's an ornamental plant only Patti), Janet and chookie!
I'm pleased your Beehive survived Janet - I'm keeping my eye out for one!
They are just a rhizome chookie - and it dies back each winter. I guess it would prefer a wetter climate than we get, but as they're fairly new to me I'll see how they go!! I have 3 of them and mark them with a wire butterfly on a stick - so I know where they are when they die back:)))

I'm just wondering how difficult it is to grow ginger - I guess it likes a hot stop in the garden?

That's a sweet little ginger Rob. I love the colour. I was worried that I lost my spectacular bee-hive ginger but it's back with the rain and has two new shoots! I'm thrilled. Thanks and hugs.

Cool! Do you use the roots in your cooking? Is it that kind of ginger?

Very pretty rob!

Wow, this does look larger than 2". It's very pretty Rob. Thanks:-)))

That's a sweet little flower. Have never seen it before.

It's very pretty and I do like the color :) But 2" that's very tiny...but it looks big(ger?)

That's a beautiful flower!! Hail can be very destructive. I hope your other plants are okay ... and your friendly neighbourhood lorikeets!!!
