oh nou ik heb het al vaker meegemaakt hoor, in het verleden ook wel getuige geweest van eenden reddingsacties ☺

Daar had Impie het inderdaad al over. Heel vreemd dat eenden vastvriezen. Over 't algemeen laten ze zich niet verrassen door vorst, ze peddelen zich juist gek om het water open te houden.

beter zo dan wat ik maandag op internet zag, eenden die vastgevroren waren 's nachts en dus door de brandweer gered moesten worden. dan maar glijden zoals deze koeten ☺☺

☺☺☺ Er waren inderdaad nog veel meer koeten op het ijs. Sommige gleden regelmatig uit, koddig gezicht, 't is me helaas niet gelukt om 't vast te leggen. Maar deze vond ik ook wel grappig☺

You're right littlebuttercup, these are coots. We call them Meerkoeten. And it is also very possible they don't look like American Coots.
This is what I found on the net:

The Eurasian coot (Fulica atra), also known as coot, is a member of the rail and crake bird family, the Rallidae. It is found in Europe, Asia, Australia and parts of Africa. The Australian subspecies is known as the Australian coot.
