Black-headed gulls only have black (chocolate brown actually) heads in summer. In winter they're just wearing 'earmuffs' :))

Hmmm, I don't see a black head... :-)

We're supposed to have a Bonaparte's gull along the river these days, and it has a dot on the head like your gull. I haven't seen it yet, although I've been checking out gulls recently.
