I have served twice and I wish my experiences had been more like yours. In the first, when I was in my 20s, there were two of us who talked things through. The others, who seemed eager to reach a verdict and go home, seemed to have no thoughts to share and would agree to whatever either of us said last. Finally, the two of us agreed and everyone else went along with us. I still wonder if we did the right thing. The more recent one had more participation but, in my opinion, much of it was pretty superficial. Still, I felt at peace with the outcome of that one.

No problem. . . I've only every served on jury once. I was in my 20s. I found it totally affirming. . . the seriousness with which my fellow citizens took this responsibility. Just a dui, but their questions and their care could not not have been more genuine.
