when it bloomed again it was a pretty dark purple

Treasure her, GG, though I bet the second one will also grow bigger and colour for you! When they finish blooming and turn into Fall colour I always like that too. I'll always cut one or two and put them in a vase with minimum water and let them dry out. Then I use them for centre piece in a Christmas table arrangement! ☺☺
