Trucks in USA are 13' 6", period. Still feel bad for the guy though. We had to take the long way out around to go out to eat tonight. Have fun, Dave

The bridge is 12' 10" and very clearly marked. He could have easily turned left and avoided this altogether. There are alternate routes. The driver is, supposedly, licensed to operate the vehicle. It's ok to feel bad for the driver as we all do, including me, but he is still 100% culpable for this. Anywayhoo, thanks everybody for playing ";" Dave

@landal

They are probably flipping burgers at McDonald's and waiting for this guy to apply for a job.

landal

Be my guess the bridge designer passed away a while back! @GeorgiaKayaker Besides, he should get a medal since his bridge is still standing after seven hits. I wonder what happened to the first six guys who didn't read the sign? ๐Ÿค”

GeorgiaKayaker

@landal

He probably will and should sue the bridge designer or DOT for having the bridge too low.

landal

@GeorgiaKayaker Think he will try to get Workman's Comp for his injuries? ๐Ÿ™‚

GeorgiaKayaker

@landal

One of two things: Either he wasn't paying attention to the sign or he's stupid.

I don't se any skid marks so he wasn't trying to stop, Being that far under the bridge was probably quite a jolt. Like catching the arresting cable on an aircraft carrier when the plane lands.

landal

Oh no! @GeorgiaKayaker I blame the fools who believe everything their GPS tells them. And they think they don't have to read signs, or directions, just start here, finish there, easy peasy! HE knew what he was driving, didn't he? ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

GeorgiaKayaker

@landal

You aren't going to blame the GPS, are you?

I doubt if the GPS knew he was driving an 18 wheeler

Some service station put too much pressure in his tires ! :-))

Bommom

Ouch! Not only out of a job but probably not able to get another job driving a truck. Maybe flipping burgers.

landal

Is this a sign that his GPS gave him the wrong directions? ๐Ÿค”

Dclo

Most likely out of a job but pretty sure his carriers ins. would pick the tab up on this. My sis says she's probably seen six or so of these over the 20? years she's lived down the street from this bridge. Thanks for playing everybody. D

Does the driver have to pay for the repairs?

redina1

That is so sad. It must have just happened since there's no police there.

GeorgiaKayaker

This one is partially 12'10"
