Dobra good spotting, it was newly painted for a special event the summer of 2014 but I think they were allowed to be sat on as there was photos with people on them.

Who knows if they really serve to sit? The pedestal looks so unused. :-)

Yes @jerrys in 2014 London had this as both a fund raiser and a summer ‘find and photograph’ the book painted benches. Lots of great looking ones on the net.

@JillianB A wonderful picture book bench. Was this the product of one of the city contests to paint an object?

In St. Louis, artists decorated tiered birthday cakes to celebrate the city's anniversary...there have been cows, horses, etc. that have undergone artistic paintjobs in various cities. Blank pieces are provided, artists do their thing and the pieces are displayed around the host city.
