Max_Tooney 4 June 2020 Forever...and ever...and ever...(I always took a shine to that movie...)https://youtu.be/2rKbtlodzCU msbonne 4 June 2020 Awesome. I am looking forward to a nice bath. Mischka 4 June 2020 We'll meet you there ... with our eerie smiles ... msbonne 4 June 2020 I reserved a room. 237. Max_Tooney 4 June 2020 "Come play with us!" Mischka 4 June 2020 I'll be visiting, with my twin sister. msbonne 4 June 2020 So it really is a maze ing? Max_Tooney 3 June 2020 The place will drive you crazy. "Danny Boy" is on a continuous loop...constantly 'cycling' so to speak... msbonne 3 June 2020 I remember seeing it from a long ways out, what with all the lights Shining on it. Max_Tooney 3 June 2020 The same. Shelley Duvall is the doorman--err, doorperson there. msbonne 3 June 2020 Is that the one with the giant Jack Nicholson billboard? Max_Tooney 3 June 2020 Oh, yes. Carson City was named after Johnny. Next time you're there, stop in and visit the "Here's Johnny" frontier museum. msbonne 3 June 2020 I have not been to Carson City since Johnny passed.I did drive a Tahoe not long ago, does that count? Watchman 3 June 2020 Finally seeing the sun and some drier days, now the steamy sauna of hot and humid weather is upon me. At least a foot of rain ahead for the year, which does do mean much around here, we could be in a burn ban at any given notice. Yeah, that tropical depression could pose a problem here as well, depending on where it decides to form and make land fall. Heat index by the weekend will be in the 90’s. I grew up in Nebraska so I am still use to those hot and humid days and high heat index. All par for the course of the months they call summer. Max_Tooney 3 June 2020 Haven't been there this century, though it's one of my favorite places to visit. I always liked the Carson City area, too. Juba1010 3 June 2020 Tahoe is about 45 minutes away from me Max. I’ll meet you there. We can say hello to my son. Max_Tooney 3 June 2020 Juba--Ride Amtrak to Truckee, then hitchhike to Tahoe. The water should still be very cold. Juba1010 3 June 2020 Another hot day here. Max_Tooney 3 June 2020 I'm preparing for the next tropical depression to form in the Gulf. I really need more rain since (apparently) *45" of rainfall isn't enough. (*Normal rainfall for me for an entire year is 54".) msbonne 3 June 2020 Just be thankful you are not upside down. Mischka 3 June 2020 @Max_Tooney, @Juba1010, @msbonne, @hippo, @Surreal_Heidi, @racoonstar, @Watchman -- how are you doing with the weather these days?Heidi, my old bones don't like this rain, and I bet it doesn't help your back and knees, either. msbonne 2 April 2020 Maddy, that is better than pissing up. hippo 2 April 2020 Good news on the cat! :) Ms_Maddy 2 April 2020 Pissing down here. racoonstar 9 March 2020 I worked with her for a little over two years, and I can tell you she is fierce when riled. nanab 8 March 2020 Thank you racoonstar, that worked. Bless them all. I just can't imagine how she mustered up the strength to stand where her home once stood and talk to reporters, that's one tough lady! racoonstar 8 March 2020 @nanab - I found the video posted on youtube.com. Try this link:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3htGss36Ag nanab 8 March 2020 I have no idea why it's happening on my computer but it keeps going to pause and I have to click to restart, after a few times of that it just freezes. I only got as far as her seeing the photo of her grandmother this time. I'm just happy to know all are alive. : ) Surreal_Heidi 8 March 2020 I had no problem accessing it, either. Too bad so many people and pets died in that tornado. One of the effects of global warming is more and stronger storms like this, and longer tornado and hurricane seasons. nanab 8 March 2020 I tried it 3 times last night, but I'll try it again. jyl 8 March 2020 @nanab give it another try; the outcome is worth watching it again. (Worked just fine for me.) nanab 8 March 2020 That video froze right as the mother was describing how she woke her daughter up and as soon as she sat up the whole front of the house was torn off, the mom choked up and the video froze! My heart sank, I know it ended well but I needed to see it. I want to hug that mom!!! jyl 8 March 2020 It's great to know that you're okay! These "events" remind us how lucky we can be.Thanks for sharing this story. racoonstar 8 March 2020 Here's more on the pool story...https://www.newschannel5.com/news/a-story-of-survival-teen-ripped-from-bedroom-thrown-into-neighbors-pool-in-cookeville Surreal_Heidi 8 March 2020 That was a close call, racoon. I'm glad you're safe. Returner 8 March 2020 Wow -- Mammoth endless quantities of rain (must be so depressing). @racoonstar - glad to know you're safe from the tornado and what a phenomenon for your former co-worker's daughter to be pulled out of a house and into a neighbor's pool. nanab 7 March 2020 racoonstar - YAY - So happy to hear you are safe!!! Sorry your former co-worker didn't fair as well, but someone was watching over her daughter. (•‿•) racoonstar 7 March 2020 @Max_Tooney - simple answer: yes, but I'm fine. I live north of town, and the path of the tornado that went through Cookeville, TN was about 1.5 miles South of my home. My phone woke me up with an alert about the tornado around 2 am with a "seek shelter immediately" message, so I spent the next 45 minutes or so in the laundry room, the only internal/no windows room in my house. I lost power for about 24 hours, and just got internet connection back this afternoon.I know that a former co-worker's house was destroyed, and her daughter was sucked out of the house and landed safely in a neighbors pool. The neighbors pulled her out. Max_Tooney 3 March 2020 @racoonstar Were you anywhere near the tornado activity? Max_Tooney 3 March 2020 Ha, no. No I don't! msbonne 3 March 2020 You think it is very sloth friendly? Max_Tooney 3 March 2020 Ouch. Chimps don't take to snow very well. msbonne 3 March 2020 Snowing here. Max_Tooney 3 March 2020 Well, it didn't rain Sunday...but it rained Monday as well as today. Gonna rain Wednesday and Thursday, too. :::Hissy fit::: Returner 3 March 2020 I hope March marches in with some good weather for you, Max. Max_Tooney 3 March 2020 Jan / Feb was the wettest two-consecutive month period of rain on record here. Bubble 29 February 2020 You must have found the fountain of youth Max, because I'd swear you get younger every day ꖘㄙꖘ Returner 28 February 2020 Max -- you've had more stressful weather since...last year? year before? before that? I swear your alter ego here (that cute chimp) resembles you. Fowly 28 February 2020 So this is where you are @Max_Tooney !!! I thought “Holiday” but I’m sensing that’s wrong. If I am, stay safe Max. Thanks for the tag @Watchman. Fay. Surreal_Heidi 27 February 2020 I live on the highest spot between Louisville and Nashville, and still have too much water. hippo 27 February 2020 Max, you're going the wrong way!!We have serious flooding here. double helping and more due tomorrow :((Luckily I live on a hill! :)) Surreal_Heidi 27 February 2020 I'm guessing our rain numbers are comparable to yours, Max. I've forgotten what it's like going outside without muck boots on because of all the rain and deep mud on the farm. Watchman 27 February 2020 @Fowly nanab 27 February 2020 Max - I found some sunshine for you, not sure if it will stay, sometimes the color text art disappears.☀️ ☀️ ☀️☂ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️☂ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☂ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☂ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☂ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ msbonne 27 February 2020 Don't look to me. Snowy and cold here. Watchman 26 February 2020 When I find it I will let you know and send some your way. Finally a few days of dry weather, next week lol more rain and more flooding. Max_Tooney 26 February 2020 Sunshine...sunshine...what is this 'sunshine' thing of which you speak? Watchman 26 February 2020 You can blame El Nino, for the wet weather. Be safe Max and may March come in like a lamb and we have drier and sunny days. Juba1010 26 February 2020 I was going to type ......reaching for a tissue, Hoff but that would have made it worse Juba1010 26 February 2020 Ha Ha Ha! Max_Tooney 26 February 2020 If I could just find the person 'making it rain'. This isn't even a club! msbonne 26 February 2020 That sounds a bit perverted. Juba1010 26 February 2020 Thanks Max. I’ll put the little rain coat on my computer. :-) Max_Tooney 26 February 2020 Juba1010, I'll send you some e-rain. Max_Tooney 26 February 2020 This is the lousiest weather month I can ever remember. Heading to higher ground! Juba1010 26 February 2020 Stop hogging all the rain Max. We’ve had zero rain this month. Send it up here. msbonne 26 February 2020 You had to leave EVERYTHING behind? Not even any clothing? I am so sorry Max, as soon as I figure out the whole wiener mobile thing, I will send some help. nanab 26 February 2020 WOW - That's a lot of water! - I don't blame you for fleeing, just don't get in the weiner mobile. Watchman 26 February 2020 Be safe Max, have your boat motor filled with gas and your go bag filled with fresh water and bananas.Just think when the rains stop and the sun and heat comes out, a few weeks later they will declare a drought and a burn ban.
