Oh, but a tweed skirt with tights beneath--or even fleece leggings beneath--is surprisingly warm. Then it's around my neck I can't stand cold air invading! It's always something. This puzzle and painting was lovely. Thank you.

My mother (who passed at 90) wore nothing but slacks for the last 20 years of her life. I'm 83, and I was following the same pattern. BUT I saw a little floaty dress in a catalog, bought it on a whim, and the rest is history. I'd much rather wear a light, loose dress on a hot summer day here in Vermont than put on shorts/slacks! The most important word in that sentence is "summer." I wouldn't wear a dress in winter if you paid me!

me too. Haven't had a dress or a skirt for years. Not so sure about the thinking though!!

@bevpuzzler8 When I was a little girl I got mad when I had to wear a dress to school. I wanted to wear pants like my brothers. I told my mother I couldn't think when I was wearing a dress. I am an adult now and I don't have a dress anywhere in my house. And I am thinking all the time.

What's a dress? My dresses are a blast from the past.

It's lovely to relax in a gorgeous dress.

The artist even captured the ripples in the silk wallpaper.

Thank you for this picture. She looks quite relaxed. 3-4-24

Were her feet really that tiny?
