Okay, I found it. I have been looking for that movie for months.
It was the Star Wars I, The Phantom Menace 1999, and the character that reminds me of the '58 Packard Hawk is Jar Jar Binks, a bumbling, foolish, Gungan from Planet Naboo.....
Based on the Disney character Goofy.
Every time I see a '58 Packard I think about that character, Jar Jar Binks. Ha ha.
Just my quirk, I guess.

Ha-ha, Pat. I do like the '58 Edsel - I thought the designer and I were the only ones.

I hear you Rick. Probably so. I love the '58 Edsel too. ha ha.
I saw a movie once, I can't remember the name of it... but the aliens that we were trying to help had faces just like this Packard... and that's all I can think of every time I see one... a friendly dumb alien.

It's certainly true that "beauty is in the eyes of the beholder"; my eyes behold one of the ugliest American cars! lol

I adore the looks of this '58 Packard. The last Packard produced. Packard club won't even recognize it as a Packard. They say it is just a Studebaker. But, I like it.

willy19 it is the same car with just a different face and trim. Studebaker and Packard merged in 1954 MORE INFO: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Studebaker-Packard_Hawk_series

Sure takes on some airs of the Studebaker Hawk series
