Why are you reporting this puzzle?

As some of you may know, on Tuesday late afternoon I found a substantial cheque in the mail. I had no idea it was coming, and it could not have come at a more opportune time, because after Sept 1st bills were paid I was going to be in a bit of a squeeze for a while, not indefinitely, but it was causing me a great deal of stress and literally sleepless nights and anxiety.

I've been having a little disagreement with Canada Revenue for maybe 18 years... they refused to see the truth when placed right in front of them.

I'd given up all hope of ever seeing the money owed me, and because of the first screw-up, every year's tax refund (there has always been a refund) has been withheld.

So it's not enough to buy a car or anything, but it IS enough to get me through this tight spot right now. When, with trepidation, I opened the envelope, expecting more "We're setting the dogs after you, you terrible person!" collection agency type stuff (yeah, they had it back to front, that I owed THEM money), the shock and surprise of this all finally being over - right when I needed the cash - had me in tears.

So. I want to pour some virtual champers for my e-friends! Which, I guess, we could do any time, since it's virtual.... It's just that this week, there happens to be an actual reason to raise a glass and be happy that good things can and do happen to good people :)

Such relief.... !! Thank you, universe!! So grateful.

Yes it does. We call that a rain bird sprinkler. And I think I’ve seen the dance. :-)))

Mazy

LOL Juba! What I am calling the sprinkler head dance (I have no idea if it has a name) looks just like one of those kick-kick-kick-kick-kick-kick-kkkkkkkkk--kick-kick-kick-kick-kick-kick-kkkkkkkkk-- ones that chop the water and then send themselves backwards to chop again - if that description helps?

Juba1010

I can’t play the videos. No high speed internet. But my kids know the antler dance. Saturday night live? Thumbs to head. Etc :-)

pukkiepuk

Yep, that dance deserves that name. ;-D

Mazy

well, 'sprinkler head dance' I'm not sure it has a name, but it's definitely this:

compare with 1:41 - 1:52 in

I knew she imitated the cool poster. Didn't know it was called 'Rosie the Riveter', but I did know about the strong women in WWII who showed they stood their man against all prejudice surrounding them. My great respect for them all! And that they kept that spirit up after the war was gladly over, that must have been the hardest. I was able to became a female machine woodworker/carpenter almost 30 years ago thanks to women like that! :-))
Never heard of the 'sprinkler head dance' before (had to check that 2:47 lol) but I will go for that one!! :-D

radiojerry

Enjoyed the music but not the video. Replayed it with my back to the monitor and it sounded like the kind of music I used to listen to when doing some heavy duty typing at work.

Mazy

LOL great fun! I love 'Rosie the Riveter' - she's an aviation 'heroine'.

Scroll down for the famous Westinghouse WWII poster that Pink is paying tribute to in that video you sent me. And yes, lets all dance the 'sprinkler head dance' as portrayed at 2:47.

(y) Happy for you that it finally worked out well Mazy (y) and now an excellent good reason to turn up the volume and sing this one out loud. :-O I'll raise mine & cheers 2u!! :-D

Mazy

thank you, Wanda. The difference in my stress-level - and thus energy level - is remarkable.

wshealy

Things happen for a reason. So happy for you, Mazy!

Thank you for your wonderful postings. Wanda

Mazy

Cheers, one and all!!

Hi Mazy, I think everyone here has said everything that that I could say, better than I, so I will just add that I am so happy for you getting what you need when you need it. I'm drinking a non-virtual toast to you tonight.

Mazy

I'm with you on that, Robin! My cosmology / religion is a little different from yours, I sort of see the whole of creation as the Whole of Creation, rather than a more traditional Godhead. But the feelings and reverence are one and the same - hence the tears of gratitude and humility. Much the same feeling I get when I sing hymns in a church, large or small (I actually passed out in a choir stall in St Pauls Cathedral while singing hymns). Or standing in heavy rain, sidelit by the setting sun, during a summer storm, and looking straight up at the endless perspective point of pure, clean fresh water, each one illuminated gold, just falling from the sky.

redina1

You may not believe in these things, but I call them 'God Moments' when He unexpectedly gives us what we need when we really need it. There's nothing better!

Mazy

Thanks guys. I'll be honest, I'd given up, but met a GOOD tax accountant who had a persuasive way about him (and the objectivity to handle what I couldn't).

No, they don't calculate the interest they pay the same - just like the banks. Karma kiss! LOL, love it!

It wasn't a huge sum, it will all go towards normal monthly bills, it's just I was going to have to borrow money (I hate that!!) to get through a tight spot and now I don't. So, from that point of view, it has certainly bought me peace of mind I had been sorely missing, (and the visceral relief that vindication brings you).

Juba1010

They say money can’t buy happiness. However this may be the exception to the rule. Happy for you Mazy! :-)

radiojerry

Congratulations Mazy! Guess they finally figured that you weren't going to disappear and go away.

redina1

Congratulations! I'd love to toast your good fortune with a glass of bubbly! :))

grandmapegs

Mazy - A Karma Kiss - I love them!!!!!!! Here's to many more. Enjoy!

emilym

So pleased for you! Any chance they calculated the interest they owed you the same as they do when you owe?

juddlewis

Congratulations. I will make a puzzle later to make the virtual celebration a reality.

Plumpossum

Cheers!!!

Lia

I am so glad for you and I hope that now there will be no more 'disagreements or bad letters' coming your way!
So here is to you! May you enjoy the money, each penny of it. It always was yours and now, at last it is yours!
