@Gaillou
This dog is a Cava-poo. He is only 2 yrs-old, but we both enjoy him so much! My avatar is my Dusty dog, who is 14 yrs-old. He's a Service Animal, and we have flown from Coast-to-Coast, Have also driven from Duluth, MN. to Dallas TX. of course the travel stopped when the virus moved in.

@Gaillou
Sidewalk chalk is such wonderful stuff! Kids can let their imaginations run, and then it rains, and the "slate" is clean and ready for another go round!
My granddaughter is 9...sometimes going on 29. I do enjoy her company!
Dusty : )

Myhhrmaid

I agree.

Gaillou

She really is. She just turned 12 today.

Gaillou

Yes, I do like how he starts his daily briefing by thanking Minnesotans for staying home and the health care workers and others like grocery stores for stepping up. He usually also highlights some business that has changed their format to fight the virus. He is very affirming. He has a calming quality to speaking while still telling the truth.

It is amazing how one can connect using the internet. No,, I am not on Facebook. OR I am,, but forgot my password back when I lost my cookies and no longer have that email address.... so I can't get in it anymore. One on my sister's wants me to just start a new page. the nieces and nephews use it all the time and that is how they stay connected. But I haven't done it yet. I'm still getting used to Jigidi again. I know my Mom stays connected to Sunday morning services and bible study through online connection.... I don't know how but I am sure she had lessons from someone. One of my sister's or her pastor.

Yes, I appreciate how our governor is handling things. He is a good man I think. I hear it in his voice and the words he uses are very fine... affirming people and our desire to help each other, valuing every life...

Gaillou

I miss our lunches, too. One day. I do appreciate our governor's approach to the pandemic. Today they announced a partnership with the University of Minnesota and Mayo Clinic to roll out mass testing in Minnesota. That is so needed.
As far as it being hard for me, yes and no. I miss the activities, but we have done some of them in private Facebook groups and Zoom. I also have a lot of one person interests, as you know. Jigidi, reading, knitting, crocheting, and tv have always been there for me. I just came back from church. Actually I was sitting here at the computer listening to the pastor on line. She had such a good message. Are you on Facebook? You could go to my page. Or you could find it on Youtube. Coon Rapids United Methodist Church.

Nah! I'm not talking about housekeeping. That's in a world of its own. I'm talking about how your schedule was always so full..... your organizations and meetings and your groups.... you organize your time and meet together with others to plan how two do good things.... from knitting to your talks and the things your organizations do that one person can't do alone. Given how active you are I have thought that this 'stay at home' we're living with is hard on you. Steve is used to going out everyday to do something... and it's hard on him to stay home. Like you, he's organized with his schedule and meeting people and organizing the 'doing stuff"; That's how I see you as organized.... You organized us getting together for lunches! You make connections. You network. I think that is organization.

I want to go out now to the garden. Been nice having some chats today. I miss our lunches.

Gaillou

Yes, she is, Ardy.
Lilac, it was serendipity. I went to Cub to buy some things for Easter and saw the sidewalk chalk. I had thought about it, but didn't know if they would have it. When Karen saw it she said she had sent her husband out to buy some at their local store, but there wasn't any. So she was pleased to. I bought a box for Eliza and one for Jacob. I was pretty sure he wouldn't use it, but they had nothing for a teenage boy at Cub. And the stores that have something he might like probably aren't open. Plus I am not going around shopping like I used to. I was at Cub for groceries and they had the Easter things, too.
As far as organization, you wouldn't say that if you saw my house. LOL! I used to say it was because I was so busy, but I can't use that excuse any more!

Well done. She's quite an artist. Wow. I'm impressed. Thanks, Gail.

Myhhrmaid

oh wow!!! well she is just doing what is normal ..... do art! That's wonderful. What an affirming heritage she fits into and embodies. And you bought her chalks. You see, that's what I see that you are so very very good at. You are organized (nothing you say will change my mind on that. I've heard you talk about your schedule and it makes my head spin. I think it's wonderful. I'm not gifted with it.) And in your organization you see what is needed and can put your energy into getting those things done that are actions of helpfulness where there is a need. I hope that makes sense. It does to me...... but then.... Ok .. I'm laughing at myself now. Gotta go.

Gaillou

It's a brand new driveway. They moved in a year ago, but the driveway wasn't poured until the past fall. Eliza is very artistic as is her mother. My mother and her father were also artistic. It must have skipped me though. I can't draw worth beans. A friend posted a picture on Facebook of a stained glass mural her daughters did on their fence. So much art going on for people to enjoy.

Myhhrmaid

Your granddaughter is a budding artist! And what a wonderful canvas she has to work with. Who would have ever thought that the words of that song would come back to us in such a way!
