Yes, it is quite beautiful when we do get some rain. This posting was from our patio and those 2 Jojobas and the Creosote brush in the foreground are where we put seed out for the Gambel's quail. It is such a joy and a blessing to have them around. By late spring it is already very warm here, and the north country sounds much more inviting, but the baby quail are hatching and such a delight to see. It is amazing that they survive the heat.

Hi, Lisa!
I was in Phoenix a couple/three years ago. Perfect timing, as there had been some rain, and the desert was blooming like crazy! I fell totally in love with the area. I could easily become a "snowbird"! I'm pretty sure that by late spring, I'd be needing to see some farmsteads, Northern woods, or Pacific Northwest country.
Dusty : )
