From the reopened back bedroom entry you can see through the bedroom to the den. The wall that juts out will be removed in the next step when a laundry room will be created in part of the back bedroom. The laundry closet, which is in the hall leading to the den, will become my office and a new coat closet.

Thanks Nancy, I'm really enjoying the process, even if it is quite dusty. Scott, my former first grade student, does a great job of trying to keep the dust to a minimum. I can't wait till he gets back from his workation so we can decide the next step. I'm really loving the openness of the entry now that the closet is gone.

@calluna - yeah, Nancy, it was all worth the hard and 'dusty' labour, I'm still pleased and enjoy the space we've created! 😊😊

Ella, isn't it fun, redefining how you use your space?! Disruptive and dusty, etc, for sure, yet a great project and you'll enjoy the new arrangement. I remember Impie's before and after pics....truly amazing how large and airy a space feels once it is opened up.😊😊 @Impie

That's for sure Patsy! I doing it a little bit at a time so when one part is finished, then a little later the next part gets changed.

This third small bedroom was enlarged and a second bathroom was added during the first remodel. The next step will be to make part of this bedroom into a laundry room. The rest of the bedroom and bath will be the remodeled bedroom without a bathroom.

I know what you mean, Impie. You don't realize how closed in you are until you remove a wall or door or change an entry. I love how open your living area is!

I'm hoping to have these "little" changes completed by sometime this summer, but we'll see! I'm just glad I have Scott to do all the work, Faye. He's amazing and one of my very first first grade students. So he better be doing his best! I'd hate to have to give him a demerit! LOL

A lot of work but a great job, Ella! You'll be so pleased once it's all completed. Like Impie, I'm having a bit wee bit of difficulty figuring out the details but I have a general idea. Good luck with the rest of the reno! πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—

Thanks for sharing, Ella. You've been busy and will still going to be busy for a while. It already looks great, but you probably will gain more space. When all is finished I hope you'll enjoy your 'new home'. ☺β™₯

When we moved here in 1996 a wall and door seperated the living room and the kitchen. A year later we removed the wall and door and I loved the open space we then had created. The door was moved to the hallway. We still had a "cupboard wall" under the stairs until 2009 when we also removed the cupboard wall. It was amazing how much bigger the living room was all of a sudden!☺
The first days/weeks coming down the steps I'd stop halfway the stairs and stared and enjoyed our big room annex kitchen for a while! ☺☺☺

Ella you are going to be busy, as Sis say photo's ☺β™₯

Off to a good start, but sounds like you still have quite a way to go. Have fun and do photos, LOL.

Renovations can be very disruptive, but very rewarding when completed.
