In Today’s Daily Puzzle, we visit Gjogv village, located on the northeast tip of the island of Eysturoy in the Faroe Islands, Denmark.

Gjogv is named after the sea-filled gorge that runs to the north sea from the village.

The village dates back centuries. It was first mentioned in 1584 but is believed to have existed long before. It has one of the best natural harbors in the Faroe Islands, still by 2006, only 49 people lived in Gjogv, which has seen a decline in population over the last 60 years.

If you are ever lucky enough to visit this place, renowned for its beauty, you can take the stairs down to the gorge. Or you can come with us now for a beautiful visit to Gjogv in the Faroe Islands

Thank you. I love learning about new places in the world.

Looks like a beautiful painting!

What a lovely place, and so many houses for such a small population. Are there “holiday” homes in the village like so many other beauty spots?
