Oldandancient your daughters pottery sounds lovely. Neat idea putting poinsettias in them. It is rainy and dark here but still mild for this time of year. Enjoy the Christmas music sparklightie. I hope you do some postings of your holiday tradition. It is exciting to learn about special traditions through puzzles. Get some rest dear joyful. You need it to stay healthy! Grins and smiles!☺♥☺

joyfulnoise4

I'm hoping to take pics tomorrow and make puzzles for you to see! As soon as I finish my store work and decorating and house cleaning..... then I can start packing!!!

irisriver

Have a good night dear friends. I got more Christmas card stuff done. Your place sounds lovely dear joyful. Just pick out a few of your favorite pieces oldandancient. It is all about doing what feels enjoyable. Christmas displays are lovely both the giant ones and the smaller sized. Sleepy grins and smiles!☺♥☺

joyfulnoise4

Well.... I'm almost decorated! Trees are up, garland strung, tables, fireplace, and piano are decorated. Stockings are hung! All that's left is to put the ornaments on the trees. Thought about just staying up and finishing, but then I decided tomorrow is another day!!

irisriver

Cool and dark here too! Been doing Christmas drawing and Jigidi to stay in a good mood! Grins☺

joyfulnoise4

OandA...we leave the 12th and will be gone a week! It's not enough for me! I love Disney! I like the crowds and watching all the people. I also like seeing it through my children's eyes! Each time we go it's different because they are getting older! The best time was when they were 5 and 6 years old. We surprised them with the trip and it was so much fun! It is cold and dark and rainy here today! Good thing I am inside decorating for Christmas! Sometimes I wonder why I do so much for just a month! I will be posting pics soon! Gotta keep going!! Christmas decorating hugs!!

irisriver

Chanukah is a beautiful celebration. I often see Menorahs included in Christmas displays. Yours is a wonderful heritage. So sad when places get less safe. That has happened everywhere it seems. I am more careful now even in my little town. Grins☺ Your town sounds lovely joyful.

joyfulnoise4

Brighty....even our little town is all lit up for the holidays! Our park has lights, a nativity, and big wooden "cards" that are decorated by local businesses and organizations. There was a Christmas in the Park celebration last Saturday but oops...I forgot about it! Don't know if the kids would have wanted to go. There was crafts and food and fun! The weather has been so unseasonably warm and wonderful here! I'm sure your Channukah celebration of lights is wonderful! It is a shame that you can no longer enjoy your parks! I really must go and get some work done! The family room looks like Christmas exploded! All the stuff and none of it set up! Plus today is my day to do work for our stores! Busy Busy! Hugs and love!

sparklightie

my oy my - sounds like are all having fun - we do not do xmas but have channukah and so the kiddies get channukah presents instead xxxxxxxxx sounds like your homes are going to look very jolly - post puzzlepics please xxxxx joy have the most wonderful time - oh wish i could be in america too xxxx south africa does not really go to town with xmas decorations - years ago when we got married and town was safe - where we stayed at first there used to be lots of lights and good cheer and ther parks were done up like xmas wonderfland - now those parks are derelicj=t abnd its not safe to be anywhere near town xxxxx enjoy enjoy and think of us her having a heat wave at xmas xxxxxxxxx Loads of love

irisriver

Who wants to sit still when you only have 1 week! Grins and smiles!

joyfulnoise4

Yep! We will do all four parks! It's not a vacation for people who like to sit still!

irisriver

Sounds wonderful! I love the puzzle idea. Do you go to Epcot when you are there? Grins and smiles!☺

joyfulnoise4

It is very pretty during the holidays. I have seen it before. Last time we went we took the kids to Mickey's Christmas Party. It is after hours. There is a parade, cookies and hot chocolate, and most of the rides are open. Since they only sell a certain amount of tickets the park seems empty. No lines for the rides. And they also make it snow! This visit I would like to tour the different hotels to see the decorations. My mom says they are all different and all gorgeous! Should make for some good puzzles!

irisriver

I would be tempted to stay too! Neat that you will see Disney all done up in Christmas stuff. Smiles!☺

joyfulnoise4

Not long enough!! Just a week, but I keep telling the kids that my ticket is one way and theirs are round trip!!

irisriver

How long do you get to stay in Florida? Grins!

joyfulnoise4

I have a feeling the next 13 days are going to be nuts! One day at a time!!

irisriver

Oh yes the backwards decorations and lights. We have done that one! Not fun! Take care with all the packing, business and decorating work. Grins and smiles!

joyfulnoise4

Yea for OandA!!! I finally got the garland wrapped on my staircase! The first time I did it backwards and had to rip it all down and do it again! It's funny how the wrong ends of the plug don't go together! Ugh!! The one tree is up but that's all! The totes are stacked in the family room waiting to be unpacked! Maybe sometime tomorrow after all the business work is done! Hugs all!

irisriver

Yay for getting the jobs done! I have been working on my Christmas drawing. Grins and smiles!

joyfulnoise4

Yes... church comes early! See you tomorrow!

irisriver

Home depot has great stuff. You will get all done and have a wonderful vacation. It rained all day so I worked on my Christmas card design and forced myself to do less puzzles. Created it all by drawing on computer this year. It printed out well. Wont be on Jigidi long with church early morning. Be patient with yourself dear joyful friend! Warm grins and smiles!☺♥☺

joyfulnoise4

Hey girl! Glad to see you this evening! Hope you had a nice day! Still no decorations up! Thought I would at least wrap the stair rail with the new 18 feet of lighted garland I bought. Told my daughter it would be plenty! So not enough! Called Home Depot and they had two left! Holding one for me till tomorrow! If I don't soon get decorated it will be time to pack!! I have to start getting my lists made for vacation! Sending stressed out hugs!!

irisriver

That is neat your daughter having a birthday so close to Christmas! What a special month for her. Grins☺

joyfulnoise4

Brighty...yes and no! We went to Black Friday shopping, but not with the other nuts! I took the kids in town around 3pm or so. Usually by then the crowds have gone home to crash! I have found the early bird sales are almost always repeated next weekend! We shopped for my daughter's birthday...Dec. 21st! She picked out what she wanted and what fit! Her shoes were $25 and her jacket was on sale for $33 but rang up for $26. I would say they were average prices and nothing spectacular! The rest of the time we search out the bargains. Love to thrift store shop when I get the chance! Guess you have to splurge for birthdays! Hugs and love all!

irisriver

I love thrift shops too. They are an adventure! Grins and smiles!

sparklightie

Magnificent collage dear joy - I thoroughly enjoyed it xxxx Hey all - I also love thrift shops - you never know what treasure you are going to find xxx the other day i went to one of our charity shops and got 10 stunning good quality items of clothing for R200 - equal to maybe 14 dollars !!!!!!!!! awesome - i am a clothing fanatic xxxx had a lot of fun and it was far cheaper than buying things overseas xxxxxxxxxxxx we had black friday sales at our stores(new thing here) but did not bother because i knew it would be crowded and its nothing like your overseas sales - did any of you go to any??? LOL

joyfulnoise4

Well...I try to be useful for something! LOL! Now if I would just do them instead of posting them! I did find a lovely material that I want to use for new curtains for my living room/kitchen! It was on sale last week, but hubby said not now. Have to save our pennies for vacation and Christmas, and daughter's birthday! Maybe before spring!

irisriver

You have given us all great decorating ideas dear friend!

joyfulnoise4

OandA...it sounds gorgeous! You should make it into a puzzle! Iris...I already thought of checking all the dollar stores after the holidays! Holiday Hugs!

Carol66

Hi Joy! A great idea........could have a great time going through the thrift stores picking up mismatched bulbs.........well, maybe I should get back to those bottles I am painting.....so, far they look like someone (me) tried to pain a bunch of wine/beer bottles.......my silver sparkle paint malfunctioned and I threw it into the back yard........Santa will see everything sparkling as he flies by!

irisriver

I love all those mixed colors. One could catch end of season sales at Dollar Trees and other places like it to get enough ornaments. This puzzle is my cup of tea for sure! Love ornaments! Grins and smiles!☺

joyfulnoise4

I'm kind of partial to all the colors! Silver, red, and gold would be very pretty too! I think since this was so big she just used anything she could get cheap! In the directions she said that she shopped all year for the ornaments. Especially at thrift stores! That fireplace must be enormous! My sister could hang one like this in her house! She has a huge fireplace and also a 2 story entryway! I thought a smaller version might look pretty over my piano...just for the holidays!

joyfulnoise4

Think I would like to make one only smaller. I have no place to put something quite that big! My daughter said next summer we could buy some new pool noodles (cause ours are falling apart) and try cutting them down. Also...I will look for cheap ornaments after the holiday! Now watch, by January I will have forgotten! LOL!
